89 gta

friends 89 gta, only got in 2 runs his first time running at cecil. he got a 14.5 at 97. all stock save for k&n and bosch +4's n accel wires. he only had a 2.2 0-60ft time so if he got that down to a 2.0 he could be at 14.3's this a good time for a stock tpi 350? i thought so

Mid 14s is a very good time for a very close to stock GTA, his mph is also very good. Low 14s are even better and it looks like if he gets some traction he'll be there. I'm in the same boat with the 60ft, but hopefully I'll get that solved soon...

Right were it should be. And your right, better short time and low 14s are there.

Sounds like it is a strong car. That is a good time for a GTA, which is heavy.

good times....mine runs 14.6@96 MPH on a 2.32 60ft

Going to the track tonight with a Corvette TC, Custom Shift Kit, and LCA relocation brackets installed since the last time.

I will be running with a set of Hoosiers cheater slicks.

If I manage to hook and get below the 2.0 60ft range 13s just might be possible!!!!!

Poncho- Get back to us. I am also inmterested in what kinda times you will see with the slicks. The fastest I have run is 14.7@96 with a 2.3 60ft time(4-speed on street tires) but have mph-ered at 97 a couple times. I wonder what that speed is good for in a 1/4 mile with slicks.

Went to the track last night but unfortunately I had clearance issues with the 15" rims and my rear brakes so I couldn't run the hoosiers.

I made 2 runs on my lousy street tires
14.9@95 2.36 60ft (Spun alot)
14.7@95 2.24 60ft (spun less but still considerable)

The weather was hot and humid vs. my 14.6@96 mph run in cold and dry conditions.

I am sure with some practice I can better those 60ft times even on my street tires, but I would prefer to get the car to leave strong from a torqued launch and mashing it!

97 MPH with good hookup is good for very low 14s and possibly 13s, that's what I was hoping for, but I will never find out because I am getting my heads, headers and intake installed this weekend. After that my car will see the bottom end of 13s and possibly 12s with a good hook and the right weather conditions.

we'll see in August when I get back from vacation!

I ended up postponing my heads, intake and headers install so I can try for low 14s on the hoosiers. I picked up sime 1/8" spacers that should take care of the clearance issues and I will be heading out tomorrow night for a test session.

The weather looks to be cooperating(24C and low humidity) so hopefully some good times will be had!!!

I'll let you guys know on Wednesday

It would be nice to see 13s on a completely untouched L98 engine...

mods are in my sig.
