I would port the runners to the gaskets, and the base and plenum also. Align the gasket to the runners and scribe out what has to be removed. Do the same with the rest of the parts. Take a dremel and start grinding, just take alittle bit off at a time.

Stock 083's? My guess is your new intake will outflow the heads, as-is.
Edit:
Also, I see you don't have a new base?
IMO, just port if you're feeling lonely

i know...thats what i planned. but my car died this morning, leaving me without a ride to work.

i am almost 100% sure it's the injectors, because i know i had atleast two leaky injectors, and the shop said one was barely spraying. I didn't have the $$ to get them all fixed cause it was before i started learning anything about the tpi.

the car starts, but doesn't stay running. If i give it gas, it revs fine, but it dies (or tries to) at idle. I am hoping my friend will bring over his compressor and then we might try to do some porting on the base with my roommates die.

yay! so the edelbrock hi-flo base is mine. so i think i will wait untill i get the base before I fix my car. i don't want to have to take the entire intake apart twice. i am goin back to the track as soon as i get it running. i will post numbers for comparison.

Stock TPI
vs.
58mm BBK Tb, SLP Runners, Ported/Siamesed Plenum, Edelbrock HiFlo Base
