I wish I had pictures of the headliner in the RS I used to own. It would make you feel quite a bit better.

I think the former owner's passenger kept mistaking the headliner for the ashtray....at least, that's my best guess.

by center consol you mean overhead console right. there is two screw under the light cover. take those out and slide the whole overhead consol backwards. it will fall off and you will see how it stays put.

Thats from years of a leaky ttop roof, which has since been fixed when I got my car painted and probably from me and my friends smoking in the car which wont happen again. I quit smoking, so no one else will be smoking in my car either. Especially since the seats are new and the headliner will soon be replaced.

Radio shack might carry it. Also try to clean all the contacts real well. Thats what I had to do to mine to get it to work again.

Thats not bad at all. When I restored my 85 I left the original headliner face up in the rear hatch and there were some parts on it. After the sun did its best to remove all of the red out of the unshaded parts I had something that looked like a large Red male genetalia in the center of my headliner Good thing I planned on switching the red for black. That would have been imbarrising to drive around with that in my car, especially if I gave anyone a ride

Stapler - funny, I had a similiar rogue thought bounce around my head too - my headliner is shot also. I had to go listen to some Bach to clear the evil ******* thoughts out of my head.

I just remembered I had some pics of when I first got the car (no staples here).

Yeah, it does look good, but when the new headliner goes in, the overhead console goes out. I really really hate it.
