My baby is sick please help!

alright I have an 89 t/a 305 tpi. Ive put headers, k&n, 52mm throttle body tb bypass, tb airfoil high flow cat and a catback system. Car idles fine, but after pullin up to a red light itll idle real low and almost stall check engine light even comes on what do yall think it is? Also I ran the quarter this last week, my car got a 16.5 I know its not a speed demon but 16.5! what am I doin wrong?! what might make it perform this bad I mean stock its supposed to hit low 15s

Pull the code from the computer (check eng light), this will give you a clue as to what might be wrong.

First place I'd check, after pulling any error codes as mentioned by Morley, is that new TB you installed...bet ya didn't set the Throttle Position Sensor voltage, did ya?

There's a procedure in the Tech Articles area.

It could be a lot of things, but the ECM error codes and TPS adjustment are the best starting places.

If it was your fuel filter, you'd be starving at high revs...not idling down to a stop. The thing would fall flat on its face while accelerating.

well its definitely not accelerating my 1/4 was at like 84 mph, thats ok for a tbi that pushes 170 hp stock but not the 89 tpi I mean I know the car isnt that slow, its never even been ragged I take verrry good care of it and so did the owner before me.
