You will be fine. You just have to cut the back ear off the ac bracket where it used to bolt to the manifold so it will clear the header tube. The rest of the bolts go into the front of the block and shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you have the brace that goes from the ac bracket to the intake is on there or it will rattle a lot with the ac on.

You can't see it real good in this pic, but it gives an idea. I had a closeup but I can't find it right now.

so the brackets won't bolt to the front 2 bolts? i mean it's like an inch or more difference. should i be using the stock bolt that has a nut, or should i use the new ones that came with the headers?

goto the hardware store with the bolts you have.

get a stud the length of the stock bolt(or a lil longer), 3 nuts, and 3 washers to go on it.

thread the stud in... to get it in snug, you can jam two nuts together.. (it does not have to be tight... the nut will hold it tight. if you overtighten the stud, you can crack the head)

now tighten one nut to hold the header on.

slip one nut on, then slip a washer on, then the bracket.
now hold the bracket where it goes, and snug the back nut to it..
then hold the nut and tighen the front nut.... and there ya go.

there is a alternate method:

you can use a spacer and a larger bolt... but the spacer has to be cut/shimmed to teh correct length...

or you can use the stud and a spacer.

so i can use the stock bolts and just use some type of spacer that is the same thickness as the mani, right?

(spacer in pic would be the width of manifold)

you could.

i just dont like reusing heat cycled exhaust bolts... they have the tendency to snap..... and then you have a bolt broken off in your head..

its cheap insurance considering the new stud is probly under $0.75
