My ACS experience

I ordered Headman shorties and Y pipe coated from ACS on 8/2/04 and my credit card was billed for the full $439 that day. I was told that it would be 15 to 18 business days before I received them.

I called on 9/3/04 to check on my order as the 15 to 18 business days had passed and no headers. This was on a Friday and I was told that they were to ship the following Tuesday.

So I call back on 9/17/04 and guess what, still not shipped.

Finally my wife gets a tracking number from them on 9/27/04. Was told that the Y pipe would ship the next day. Headers arrive on 10/2/04 but I had left the day before on a 10 day hunting trip and had to make arrangements to have somebody come by my home and check for them.

When I get home on 10/10/04 the headers are here but no Y pipe. Now I am working out in the sticks where I don't have cell service so my wife starts calling to find out if the Y pipe got shipped. For three days they lied to her about not being able to find the tracking number. Told her to ask for Jimi and she was informed that he doesn't work for ACS anymore.

Finally my wife talks to Dave on 10/15/04 and he tells her that he will have it done that day and will overnight it to us at no charge.
Next day comes and no Y pipe. She gets ahold of Dave again on 10/18/04 and he tells her that their machines were down and it would be 4 or 5 days before he could coat anything. My wife tells him that day that we have to have this Y pipe now and to ship it out uncoated that day. He does and tells her that he will credit the $50 for the Y pipe coating back to our card by the end of the week. He did overnight the Y pipe and I had it, uncoated on the 19th. She calls back today, the 25th, and he still hasn't refunded us the $50. Says he has to wait a few days to get the money.

I will say though that the headers look really nice. I wish I could have coated the Y pipe too but after waiting 76 days I had to go uncoated.

I'm not going to say don't buy from ACS, but I thought that other members of this site deserve to be warned.

Sorry about your experience bro. I have been hearing a lot of bad things about ACS lately. Sounds like ACS is full of I know if I ever need to get some headers coated I will be going with Jet Hot.

I pretty sure it is against the law to charge your credit card for something before it is shipped out.

If you order something and they charge your credit card at the time, then you don't recieve your goods when they said you should.

First, complain to them. If no resolution then call your Visa/Mastercard company, tell them about the problem, and they will suspend the payment to the company. That means that you won't be paying interest and that THEY will then complain to the company. Once they threaten to take away their Visa capability the company will get moving pretty soon.

It's a shame you're getting such a run around. I had slight problems with them getting mine shipped, but nothing like you're having. Sounds like they cannot keep up with their orders. Like I said, it's a shame because they do good work. I love my headers and y-pipe I got from them.

I agree with that! They seem to have tried to expand much too quickly, with the ensuing problems of breaking promises to customers, long lead times etc. They should have been honest and not taken on more work than they were able to handle. I hope they get their problems sorted out and are able to try to repair the damage to their reputation.
