No Shane, that is not amazing considering the many burn-outs you mentioned in an earlier post from a couple of days ago.

my Fulda Carat Extremos lasted two summers practically. They were new in March 03 when i bought the car and by august 04, they were replaced. at replacement time they were showing threads LOL REALLY worn out.

Anyway, I put on about 12 thousand miles on them with about a dozen small burnouts here and there. Tread ware rating was 180.

when new they are loud as hell when you spin them off. LOL, but when worn out, you hardly notice them spinning but could always tell by your Rpm's and sense of acceleration.

At a 109 a piece, they are a real nice tire. go easy on them and they will serve you well. handling/traction is great. especially in the wet weather and even in the cold.

well these have atread rating of 280

and they oly laster nearly 9k miles. I am very disappointed and they will be giving me some kinda discount on these new tires.

thats rediculoud, i paid $260 for two mounted tires and then this.

it could also be the quality of the tires...i work at a tire shop for 5 months now and only 5 times at the most have i seen cooper tires on a vehicle...theve all looked like crap and i was told these tires arnt the greatest.

tread wear of drag radials are low and you can get 9 thousand miles on them

mid 200's to 300's will last a good time like 14-17 thousand miles.

Hey shane have you ever lived in and driven in the midwest during winter? I am going to guess not........ if I was you I would find a set of all weather radials...........and a beater to go with them before the snow and ice hits. (which wont be long, I only live 200 mi from where you are at and they said we might get light snow on thur.)

P.S. Did someone put a quarter in you and pull you string tonight?

wow that sucks. normally if your tires are worn that much most shops wont give u a discount or much of anything off the final bill mainly becuz they wore so fast like. andits also there judgement on weather to give a discount or do anything besides put new tires on the car.

ive worked at pepboys for over 2 1/2 years in ther service dept. and i change alot of tires and more then likly the place u got those tires from, the most they might do is prorate the tire. which means takes the tread depth and then the computer will calculate how much is taken off the price of a new tire. but if there worn close to the littlewear sensors on the tires, ud be better off just goin in and askin for a new tire then try to hassel them.

also i have Futura (which are made by Cooper) tires on my camaro and ive had them for about alittle less them 2 1/2 years and still have great tread on them and thats after a few burnouts on the street and plenty of burnouts at the track and also plenty of street driving.

Cooper is paying 75% of the new tire cost. So i'll only be responcible for $75 for two rear tires. Great deal guys....

Now whats the max pressure that is writen on the side wall ofthe tire? normally you want to go just a few pounds under that. so if its 44 psi do 40psi if its 35 do 32. thats how ive been settin my air pressure on all cars i drive and all cars ive put tires on and so far not one problem as far as wear.

ok help me understand this. you have a thread saying you do alot of burnouts, and then you come here to whine about your tires wearing out.

simple doing a BURNout burns the rubber and melts it, i'm surprised the place is paying a nickel. hell i'm surprised they didn't tell you to **** off.

this isn't a flame just an observation

hey 83Firebird420 do u still have ur factory tires on your car? do u know what the max psi is on those tires? more then likly u dont. now look at the tires u have on your car right now. whats the max psi? you go just under that mainly so u get even tire wear out of it if nothign in your suspention is messin up the tires. all differnt tires have different sidewall strenght and are made out of different tire compounds. take a Bfg tire and compare it to a futura. threres a big differnce in compounds and sidewall strenght. now if you run the bfg tire on 32 and say the max is 44 u wont have exzactly the same tire wear u would if u have it at 40. all tires are differnt, they dont match the tires that came from the factory back in the 80's.

u may go by a sticker from the 80's but i go by what the manufactours that make the tires.

but hey if it works for u

hey timz2882, i understand what your trying to say, but at my work we always go by the number on the door no matter what the tire is or year of the car and the psi hasnt really changed much since then...sure the tire compounds have changed but the psi hasnt. also its the factory that makes the car that knows what psi is best for it, for example u buy any tire nowadays and they have a max 44 psi or 41 they are all different but the car manufacture is who knows best....if u choose to follow what teh door says, then its better for the tire, if u go higher or lower then it could be better or worse for the tire. At my work when people come in and ask what psi their tires should be at, we always tell them the psi on the door. noone forces u to put the tire at what the door says it can also be personal prefrence what u want the tires set to

I prefer the door method, and only for stock sized tires... because it is generally lower than the recommended PSI on the tire, which means a more comfortable ride.

That's on my 86 Sport Coupe... a daily driver with not much in the field of performance. The difference of 5 PSI or so really shows in the feel of the road. And with all my stock clunky suspension, I'd rather have the tires doing the work than the springs, struts and shocks.

There's two sayings that come to mind here: You get what you pay for ....and there's one born every minute. Having your tires with the correct psi will help them last. Doing more burnouts will not. Soon, you will be in the same situation again because you can't afford to get proper tires for your car.

so how is it you can feel the diffrenc the exhaust makes but you can;t feel a burnout or lose of traction?

oh and yes cooper tires are the real low end of all tires made. even bfg cost 160+ each but will last much longer. No tire will last with burnouts or poor diriving habits.

most all passenger tires call for 35 some z rated tires call for 40. i usually go with 32-35 for any tire on a car. check you sidewall and forget the door sticker.

Scottie, is there enough power left over in the core to beam up one more? I've had all I can take too.

LOL, yeah, not sure an exhaust is that noticeable. Just alittle bit but wheel spin is noticeable. Traction loss is felt immediately

I run 30psi on my tires
