Hotchkis SFC vs Comp Engineering SFC
I have the chance to either get Hotchkis SFC or Comp Engineering SFC for under 100 bucks from the local classifieds...I was wondering what everyone one suggests....I do have an eibach sportline kit installed so ground clearance might be an issue...I used the Search button and everyone says Spohn,too bad i cant afford them anytime soon...Also they are both weld in and i have stock exhaust...What does everyone think????All and any info will be greatly appreciated
Get a cage :-D. I had hotchkis and i didnt like them didnt seem to really help much at all. I dont like how you can only weld the bottom side where it connects to the control arm. I dont care for sfc's that much cause their underneath and they usually have interference with the exhaust or the ground. If you dont want back seats I would get a cage or roll bar.

Competition Engineering SFC's require floor pan modification. i have heard some people say that they did not cut the floor but the directions say that it is required. thats the reason they are not expensive. there is no real engineering to them.
Do the hotchkis require modifications to the floor board or exhaust?And the ones that i am getting are the weld in type..Here is what they look like...I can pick them up for 100 bux

The y pipe on my edelbrocks came over and hit and that was the headers for the tbi. Im cutting them off now and getting a roll cage i dont want nothing underneath. If you going to go SFC's though i would go alstons or spohn me personally i like the style of the alstons. Why because I like the area they mount and it looks like you could get in and weld all sides. Another thing is they hook to the frame not the torque boxes and if you get a roll cage later on you still have the alstons on the inner frame rails where you can run the roll bar through the floor and connect to it. Its just a cleaner look underneath i guess. The spohns would work great also im sure though.

I have the Hotchkis SFC's and they work and fit excellent for me. For exhaust setup I am using a 3" Catco convertor and American Thunder Flowmaster exhaust and it hits nothing. I think I read somewhere that clearance issues are a problem for those running the dual cat setup. No matter which SFC's you go with, make sure they are also welded along their length and not only on the ends.

I have the big comp engineering ones.........
I am very happy with them and they fit very well. I had them welded on the ends also. The car feels awesome now. But these make stock exhaust about impossible. Right now its cut right after the down pipes come together and it starts to bend. I only drove the car to shop to have them welded and then back home. Its been on jack stands ever since.
