clearance problems with springs
Hey, I've got 17x9.5 rims coming in the mail, same size all around with P27040R17 tires. My next step is to lower it with either pro-springs or sportlines. I love the look of the sportlines but do you think I will have clearance problems with 9.5" fronts? Problems with pro springs?
Is scraping a serious problem with the sportlines? My town has a lot of hilly roads. Maybe I should just go with the stiffer Pro Springs. Any input appreciated.

Save $$$ and cut the springs yourself. I just did it and saved $ bigtime, there are some pretty heavy mixed opinions about this subject though.
And try a search, since there are alot of dropped rides here.

that looks real good but i dont want to cut my springs because i want to be able to switch back to stock. my rims and spacers are the same dimensions as the third gen slp firehawk, so i'm told. anyone know if sportlines will be a problem?

Bad thing about cutting springs is its no good to cut old worn out springs with 150 gazillon miles on em. Dont really gain much there. I would say with prokit you shouldnt have a problem. Dont know about sportlines. No one I know has them. The only thing I could see is you may have to roll over the inner lip on the front fenders. Are you going to be running spacers with the rims?

What do you mean? My springs were @153,000 miles and turned out fine.

yea i'm using spacers, i mean the car has 45000 miles on it so i'm sure the springs still have some life in them, but i really dont want to start cutting them up...i'd rather just get another set that's already sized out. do the pro-kit springs make the car noticably lower?

I just wouldnt want to mess with springs with higher miles on them because they simply wouldnt be as stiff as a new set or a some with very few miles. I am sure they work just fine and are a hek of alot cheaper then my $250 prokit.
