DONATIONS for awards fund for SFT

So that we can have something better than some cheap ribbons, to award at the SPRING FLING THING, I have started this thread so it will be easy to keep up with, as well as recognize those who donate.

Although several have pledged larger amounts, if everybody donates just a few dollars, we should have more than enough for some nice awards. A complete disclosure of donations and costs of awards will be posted here!

At the moment we are leaning towards some nice 5' X 7" wooden backed/metal plate engraved plaques.

For donations for the awards fund for the SFT U have 4 choices:

PAYPAL accounts:
If U are not familar with Paypal--go to web site and it will walk U thru signing up for an account (FREE), and how to send money (FREE).

1. zap1@ev1.net -USE ONLY IF U HAVE/WANT TO USE YOUR CREDIT CARD--this account is set up for my business, so my customers can use CC's--this one charges a fee of 2.9% +.30 per transaction

2. suemr@ev1.net --this account does NOT charge a fee--use it for payment with your funding source other than a credit card.

3. Mail a check or whatever to: MAKE CHECK PAYABLE TO: Craig Landry

Craig Landry
5910 Dryad
Hou. Tx. 77035

4. Track me down somewhere and hand it to me--Just make sure I remember to post your donation, so U receive credit for donating.

Please remember we need to have all this done by first of March. We need to allow ample time to get the awards done, and I don't want it to be a last minute scramble.

Craig

Want to thank the following for donations to the awards fund for the SPRING FLING THING.

Dam_ Dude!!!
Appreciate the LARGE donaton.

If everybody just tosses in 5 bucks we should have way more than enough. Please don't hesitate to donate even if it's only a couple bucks!!! This (IMO) is something that should be equally shared by all the Houston Area Thirdgen.org. members.

I wish, lol. I doubt I'll get any of 'em. Have we decided on how many, and what categories there will be?

There in this post/thread.
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=274071
They are not etched in stone-Pasky suggested "Best MPH", and I'm open to suggestions. Originally there were a couple more (see original post in this the SFT thread).

ANYBODY THINK WE WANT/NEED ANY OTHER CATAGORIES--Be realistic now guys!

These are the ones I eliminated:

Best/Most Improved Car--might very hard to judge since not everybody is familar with everybody elses cars past/present.

Best Engineering (ex: engine swap, but not limited to)

Best Wheels/Tires (-OH CRAP--that's the only one I had a shot at!)

Best/Baddest Sounding Car (Exhaust at Idle-- not stereo)--I don't know--I kinda like this one!

Matt--your paypal donation has cleared and been transferred.

THANK YOU!!!

Now if we can just get some of the others to do the same. There was a bunch that wanted better awards, but they are not free guys! Please make your donation in whatever form in WHATEVER amount U wish. There are a few that have pledged, and I'm sure they will come through, but like I said before. if everybody chips in a few bucks, we should have more than enough to cover the costs.

You can count me in for $5.00.

I also think that this one should be re-instated...

Best/Baddest Sounding Car (Exhaust at Idle-- not stereo)--I don't know--I kinda like this one!

And what about "most modded car"?

Thanks for the donation. Any and all is appreciated!

I think we are locked in for this meet. I think Kevin has already ordered the plaques, but I'll check.

I agree, I kinda liked that one!

Zap, put me down for 25 bucks. I am currently in the jungle and don't have paypal, but do have a regular credit card. Will this work? Im definitely good for it.

Hey I just thought of something, take if out of the $100 you are going to pay me for the tires/wheel deal

What was the final list of awards to be given. I rembember a long list, then it got shorter. In my opinion we shouldnt go nuts, it would become like a cub scout pinewood derby where they end up giving awards so that every kid gets something so he doesn't feel bad, .

I remember thinking like

Fastest car, either ET or winner of a round robin match race. The match race would be best since anything can happne in a race.

Best Exterior

Best interior

best red 91 formula with Superramm (just kidding)

The way things always seem to go--if we don't have a "rain date"--we will need one. If we DO have a "rain date" we will not need it. So.....

RAIN DATE FOR THE SPRING FLING THING IS SATURDAY--APRIL 2, 2005!

Can still use a few more donations for the awards fund!

SPRING FLING THING--10 days and counting!

Get your rides in running order.

Shine them up pretty. (Don't forget we are giving a bunch of awards/plaques for appearance and performance.)

Don't forget yur cameras.

Bring yur folding chairs or whatever creature comforts U are into! Be sure and bring the appropiate clothing in case it turns cold at the strip that night.

Get your thirdgen virtual swap meet pics ready.

Don't forget to double check your food committments.

AND MOST OF ALL--DON"T FORGET TO SHOW UP!!!
