Racing Friday night!
I have to go see what my car will run!
Seally has this Friday night:
TNT, STREET STOCK, JACKPOT
I'm thinking it would be good but I'm willing to consider HMP if someone wants to go there (never been myself).
So who's interested?

HMP's website says this for Friday:
Friday - April 15th / Gates Open at 5:00 PM
5 PM - 9 PM
Test-N-Tune... Run Wha Ya Brung!
Then
9 PM Til Late
IMPORTS-SPORTS COMPACTS- MOTORCYCLES
HMP is "THE HANGOUT!!"
Anyone know if they are still racing after 9 and if so will they let US race?
This is 20 miles closer for me so I would be willing to go there instead...

I want to go. Sealy is great for practicing reaction times, launches, shifting. I need to practice and get used to my new setup. I think Barry might come too. We can run test and tune, or even street stock bracket race. It doesn't cost any more and you can still run T&T between or after you lose. Hey, you might even win a trophy.

So you would rather go to Seally?
Do you think Seally will be less crowded than HMP or do you prefer it for another reason?
Like I said I've never been to HMP. But I've always had fun at Seally.
Do you want to meet up before we go, or just meet there?
They open at 7 and I want to be there when they open. I'm guessing that with Friday night traffic it will take over an hour to get there.

I much prefer Sealy. First, its closer and easy for me to get to from Katy, no traffic, just a liesurly cruise down rural I10. Second, it is more organized than HMP. They direct you to the proper staging lanes. Third, there is tons of room in the pits, not all crowded like HMP with people walking everywhere.
I think Barry may go, he lives about 4 blocks from me. We usually cruise out together. Just meet there at say 7 or 7:30. I have a bright red 91 formula, easy to see. I need to confirm with Barry that he is going
Also on a Friday night with no special event going, like this one, you can make as many runs as your car can handle. Not that crowded at all.

Well those are severall good reasons. But the "It's closer and easy" doesn't apply to me, it is actually 25 miles farther for me (55 instead of 30).
So I guess I will meet you there at 7 or 7:30 tomorrow. Barry has seen my car before and I've seen his so we should be able to pick each other out. But just in case, where do you normally hang out/pit?
Let me know what Barry says.

Should of brought the ET streets...
I was there, but I didn't see any other third gens.
I'm not too happy with the results. My traction sucks. My best times were after retarding my timing to the point that the car would hardly run. That cut down on my wheel spin enough to get my best run of the night. (best 60ft and ET, I lost a couple of MPH) But it still spun off the line and in 2nd gear. I never had to use 3rd gear.
After a lot of test runs I think my mufler is my biggest bottleneck. So it is getting movind to the top of my mod list.

OK, the jpg didn't upload properly the first time so here it is.

Overall I guess it's not too bad. I used to have to use N2O to get times like that.

Never got out of 2nd? What gear are U pulling?
For that matter, what's the run down on your engine + drivetrain anyway?

Gear? 3.31:1 in a Dana 44, with a 7,500 redline and a THD 400, 4000 stall. Mathmatically (assuming no torque converter slip, but there is actuially a lot of that) it should do 112MPH in second gear.
Engine is a SBC 377, 11.3:1 compression, CNC Ported AFR 210's (2.08/1.60), Victor Jr, 900Cfm TBI, Hooker Super Comp Long Tubes, .580/.600 253/260
The reason I think my muffler is a bottle neck is because my air filter SHOULD be, but running without it had NO effect on my times. The headers have two 3.5" collectors but it is choked down to a single 3" OD muffler.

Sorry man, I was ready to go Friday night and was changing the oil and noticed that on bolt had came out on my recently changed transmission mount, and the other one was about to fall out. Had to pull everything off and helicoil an remount. Barry helped but by the time we finished at aobu 9 pm it was too late. Lets go next weekend.
