When you add the reinforcements AND roll cage, which is heavier then a rear seat
The pics are in the pinned section, I'm sure you would find

Who wouldn't??
Not many really impress me, being a Firebird guy, but overall, I'm a stubborn GM loyalist...as many mistakes as they make, they had the styling studio and luckily the engineers needed to keep up with the stiff competition year in and year out.
These days, I feel nothing new from them gets my blood pumping though, other then the Vette, which still LOOKS like a USA Vette

If you've looked through, I think it was Consumer Digest/Guide, etc, prior reviews (they keep moving up in years), our generation of Firebirds, all types, got favorable, if not excellent, reviews from car critics for their handling, especially, and power...as usual ride comfort is the victim of a car meant for road enthusiests. (the 'sporty car' segment ;:~)
I think by and large, these are somewhat small cars, but don't fit in that bracket when I think of small cars. What I did notice is my two rides together; '88 Sedan Deville and the '89 Firebird 2 door coupe, both are roughly the same size, and of course, being a luxury car meant for comfort, the Cadillac is heavier. Anyway, the reinforcement for the droptop doesn't have too much of a downside.

If you're willing to forego the extra seating for a rollcage, you have to factor in more weight though I have no numbers, I like the look, but for me, prefer the seating. I got my first ride in the car back there!
You can picture, I got my 32" Toshiba TV home from the cities in that back seat, it was used from a pawn shop so it was outside of the original box, but it worked. Luckily we have flat screens nowadays! hehehe

I love the old hotrod big rear meats, hunched down in front look, and the roll bar means your ready for street or strip, if it doesn't look import-style, anyway hehe
Do all rollbars delete the rear seat?

I shared words with Scott Moyer on the History/Restoration board and I'll say in my opinion, a car ordered thru a dealer or one with a VIN from the factory for convertible status, done via ASC, the selected company GM sent cars to is official to me. There are a finite number of cars done per year, and mine happens to be one that had the factory L98 engine. (and no #3 in VIN)
ASC cars I'd say are 'official' GM, that based on the GM designers sending their own cars off to ASC (I can say for sure, at least one) ...Likely after they rolled off the production line. Arm me with evidence to the contrary. For sake of questions I'm asked about my car, I keep answers brief so I typically quote the number most people seem to have settled on, it's approx still, I'd wager

1350kg for coupe
form canada so its in kg times by 2.2 for pounds

Here Are the REAL Numbers:
MVMA Specifications:
CAMARO (1FP87) 2 Door Coupe (LHO & MB1) = 3105 Pounds.
CAMARO (1FP67) 2 Door Convertible (LHO & MB1) = 3220 Pounds.
CAMARO Z28 (1FP87) 2 Door Coupe (LB9 & M39) = 3273 Pounds.
CAMARO Z28 (1FP67) 2 Door Convertible (LB9 & M39) = 3377 #'s.
The convertible weighs more than the coupe (including T-top models).

We did mention it had reinforcements, correct?
My 1989 T/A dealer sheet also lists specs like the above, but clearly with the V6 Turbo to 350 TPI options on the Bird of preys
