Another, there`s a 30"wide by 14" tall by 4.5" thick Griffin air to air intercooler just behind the black trim piece that goes around where the fog lights used to be.I`m using a 10 rib belt,8" crank and a 3.47 blower pulley which makes 10 to 11 psi at 6000 rpm.So much better than filling bottles!

Did you have to do anything special to get the intercooler to fit there??

BadBowtie,
Thanks! For now I`m looking for low 10s@mid 130s,as the car isn`t legal to run in the nines.Plus it`s a production 400 block and I don`t think it will like too much cylinder pressure. When I get the money I`ll upgrade to a Dart block and wind up the boost to get the YSI where it wants to run.

Dustin,
There`s no factory plastic that used to duct air to the rad,and no bumper support. Turns out the nose is pretty rigid on its own.I`ll post a pic with the nose off.

Crazy Hawaiian,
I`m running a 2.5" Harwood. The pipes clear everything except for a spot that touches the hood right where the rad cap is,I`ll have to take a little off the underside to get the needed clearance.I`m making sure I don`t need to change anything with the piping before I give Chris at CE Coatings a call. BTW its .065 3" aluminum tube.

va454ss,
I`m using the basic Vortech plate tensioner with the idler pulley you`d use with 30mm cogs. It`s the same width as a 10 rib belt and has shoulders on it. No belt issues so far.

Synapsis,
It`s sourced thru Combination Motorsports in Vegas.I made a cardboard full size model tosee what would fit in there, then drew up a blueprint and faxed it to them, they sent it to Griffin and turned out perfect. I`m very happy with the work Griffin does.Outlet temps are around 100 degrees

That's a really nice fit, I do agree with TPI383 tho.

Do the dimensions listed above for that intercooler include the end tanks?? And what's the in/out size on that badboy???

I took this today. S-trim, with a 24x12x3 intercooler. Minor modifications to get it to fit where the AC used to be.

You`re correct, however there is no room to bring a pipe from that direction to the TB on my car. It has a factory rad still and the belt/pulley for the s/c takes up all available room, and then there`s the fans....

OUCH!
Look what you are doing to the outlet of that s/c. It appears to be pinched off by your connector.

GP406Z,
Looks top notch! One of the best air to air setup's i've seen on a thirdgen so far. That s/c that can move some serious amounts of air, hope it's not too much for ya to handle.

Not even close. Thats a really good quality coupler, its designed to be a little greater than a 90d by having some area in the back for air to twirl around. Motor boosts just peachy.

Nice.

I am running a 8.00 crank pulley and a 2.85 blower pulley on my car. Have seen 21.5 psi on the dyno, but last dyno was 18psi. Times in sig. Made 754rwhp on 21.5 psi, 680rwhp with 18.

I also run a Griffin FMIC A2A.

What is a custom one like worth ?
