looks excellent. pm me with what you did for the harness. i'm trying to decide wether to cut a hole and run the factory one through the wall or pick up a new version extended from howell.

Looks great, mine almost done also. As for what i did for the wiring, i cut the hole in the firewall just like mr.dude did. Did the rework harness from speartech and everything was great. It was all plug an play, made it SUPER easy, the comp is in the stock location and looks like nothing was done once i got all the carpet back on. Its a super tight fit to do the hole in the firewall but its totaly worth it after i got it done. I had barely enough slack to make it to where the comp was originaly located but it made it. If you have anymore questions just pm me i'll be happy to answere what i can.

why did you find it necessary for the speartech harness then if you went that route?

at the top left of the motor you can see the big harness going through the firewall. to me this was the easiest, and best looking route. didnt have to extend any wires, and the computer has a braket it sits in underneath the dash. i have a newer style dash, but from what i remember, its where the stock pcm from 1985 would have been.

the only thing i didnt like about the method of using a hole down towards the bottom of the heater box, is that around headers the wires will be exposed to heat all the time. i believe i used a 2" hole saw, and then just cleaned it up with the die-grinder

i might have some pics of underneath the dash and everything, but i dont know if they would help since its all the newer style...let me know if you have any more questions

i just had speartech modify my harness to work with my 3rd gen, i didnt buy the new harness. Its like 300 dollars cheaper by doing this, you could do all the wiring yourself but i didnt have the time nor did i want to put that much effort into doing it myself.

they wanted $400 to modify the ls1 harness that i would send them. not even sure what they do with this because it is an extra $300 plus my thirdgen harness to tie the two together. then if i wanted it extended i'd have to get their new harness which is $700 instead of the initial $400 above.

$1,100-$800 range. if i knew the $400 would do the trick i'd probably do it too. pat did you just tie your own in?

So share the wealth? I'm tired of hearing all you guys say it's so easy. Just kidding... seriously though, I need help! Neil at Hawks had mine at the time of his death, now Bruce is shipping it back untouched. I gotta figure something out now. Please help!

It's been a while since i did mine, but i just used the original switch on my brake pedal that use to work with the cruise control. The switch has to be open with the brake pedal depressed. You run and ignition power source to the switch and then a wire to the purple wire that goes to the pcm C1 pin 33.
