Well here are some pics.. Still have a few things to do on the outside, but it's showable now. I haven't even started thinking about the interior yet..
Changes other then repairing the wreck damage:
17x9.5" Epsilon rims with custom center caps
4th gen disc rear
RA1 hood
all new decals
Recovered tonneau cover in grey instead of black.
Front turn/fog light blackouts..
I'm about to start the front C5 brake swap, once that's done I'll be on to the interior.

SWEEEET ride! If only the dish was like the GTA and not as shallow, but what counts is how nice and new that thing is. Take care of it, I'm sure you will.
Now I know it goes with the style and colors, but what about keeping the hood grills black?
But I got to say it again, that is a nice fawkin' car!!

H-Bomb, he repainted them. Here's the thread with the info you need. Shroom never did tell us the paint code though so it may not help you.
GTA rim gold paint code was correct
Edit: I almost forgot to ask. Shroom, how did you fab up the foglight blackouts? I noticed them in your pictures before I noticed that you mentioned them as one of your new mods. It looks like you did a nice job.

Doh.. Busted.. Paint code is:
GM Aztec Gold - Effect color
Code: 9218 (may be O'reilly's code)
Code2: C9047K M
I'll update the other thread..

Center the paper on the plexi to one side. Mark where the screw holes are and drill through the plexi. Put the light back in place and just attach it uses the screws through the plexi.
About $10 and 30 minutes and you're done. Nicest thing is that you don't have to worry about getting the screw holes perfect as long as you have a big enough piece of plexi, no one ever sees the edges!

I had followed your thread about the 17" GTA wheels and thought you had replied about the exact color. I think you might have mentioned it later in another thread somewhere. Sorry to bust you on it.
I'll look into adding the plexi blackouts to my GTA. It sounds like an easy mod. Where do you buy tinted or smoked plexi?

normally I hate verts, but that looks hot! I absolutely love that color on there. Good combo all around.
The only thing I noticed I would change is finding a gold ram air sticker for the hood. It would match the theme a little better imo.

The car looks great.
I am not a fan of the gold hood grilles. I would do black, but thats just me.
Will you be putting a stock bird decal back on the nose? Body side moldings?

Absolutely stunning! I love the paint color and new wheels. the gold grills kinda "stick out" too much being gold. I like the blackouts to the fog/turn lights.

It's the same color as the center cap/TA decals..

I think with the hood and RA decals adding a nose decal would be a little too much.. If anything I might get a Jade GTA sail panel bird and stick on there, but even the repro's are expensive..
Am I the only person who noticed that he has only one seat in his car?
Now, as far as the gold vents.... I like them, and as Jade said, the stock hood had gold vents too... This is the new style RA1 with custom vents molded into the hood. If this was the old style with removable vents I might have gotten a second set to paint a duller color.. Probably the dark grey that's on the tonneau cover. As it is right now it would be a pain to mask it all back off...
Thanks for the compliments guys, they help keep me going..

i bet if htere was more gold on the car somewhere it would help out the gold vents...it looks awsome with the gold vents but a bit more gold would help them fit in more.

Thats very sharp looking... i love the wheels! I think i'd paint the centers black. Although i'd probably have to see it in person...
Great work
Great work
Wow, this is the first 91/2 bird I've seen that I don't ansolutley hate. There's just something about the way the whole car flows together that really does it for me. I usually hate the new f-bird nose and gfx, but they look really good here. Maybe it's just because it's a vert..
Anyway, wheels look nice, just wish they were a little deeper like the GTA's, then I'd be all over 'em.
Finally, the tonneau (sp?) cover thing, that looks so much better how you did it. When I had my vert, I always wanted to recover that, but first put some type of cloth/foain in there to give it a little more depth and a softer look/feel. But anyways, yours look awesome. Wonder why someone else hasn't tried it yet...But they will soon.
