Any Junkyards in Eastern PA that have some F-bodys?
Looking for a junkyard that may have either 1 decent f-body that runs or numerous f-bodies that i could kinda make a frankenstein creation from. I'm not really looking for a project, just something to slap together as a beater/daily driver (for less than $1000).
I live in Eastern PA too. Where I live, all of the junkyards have had f-body nothing for the past year. If you don't live too far from Hazelton, check out Harry's U Pull It. The place is seriously huge. There has to be some f-body cars in that yard. Check them out, http://www.wegotused.com

ah waht would my chances be of finding an l69 dual snorkel there??
Tough to say, I haven't been up there in quite a while so I don't know what's up there now. I would think though, with the ammount of cars that they have up there, chances of finding that intake would be pretty good.

I'm not in eastern PA, but i have a camaro that you might be interested in. It's an 89 RS with an 86 monty 305... i'm looking for a lil over 1000 for it, but it needs minor work to be up and running, and with some extra cash it could be real quick.

chances of finding something whole at harry's u pull it is slim to none. i was at the one in scranton over the winter, and there was not one good f body that i found. the closest thing was a second gen, that had been stripped to the frame and floor boards. you may want to check out Muirner's car, i saw it in the classifieds, be a good car for ya. also, check out Capital Auto Parts, they've helped me find alot of parts, so maybe they could help ya out. thye have connections with alot of junk yards up and down the east coast, and relativly reasonable prices too.

try making the drive out to carlisle. there is a salvage yard out there with atleast 10 f bodies with good bodies. don't know about the engines. i haven't been home in almost a year. but i know they keep the f body in pretty good stock. they are pretty reasonable. that is where i go when i am home to get parts for my car as i live about 15 mins away from there. it is called carlisle auto salvage.

i''m not sure if they will do it anymore, as it was just sold to another guy that took over running it, but i think that he will for a little cash say maybe 500 at most. when you get closer to the time i can give you directions from town. it is right between carlisle and mechanicsburg about 5 mins off the carlisle pike(sr15). it is closer to the carlisle side though.

it is by (think road is called)beagle club road. i can't remember road names due to the fact that i have been gone due to the military for 4 years. just go down carlisle pike towards carlisle, under 76 and when you see a sheetz store on your right, turn right. you will pass under a small bridge, and you will see a couple of small houses on your right, with a large dirt road by them. turn right and it is like 100 yds back the road if that. it is by the eagles picnic ground if you remember that is!

Home Sick...
TGO Guys,
Just stumbled across this thread..... Makes me homesick! I'm from Pocono Pines and Graduated Pocono Mtn High and Northampton Community College... Spent a lot of weekends at Harry's You Pull It!!
Has anyone tried "DeNaples" in Scranton...... Normally a bit higher priced and not a Pic-It-Yourself... but they use to have EVERYTHING!
Anyway.... I know what you are dealing with in PA with the road salt and such. A Third Gen with Rust Free Fenders & Doors would be pretty hard darn to find! However, here in Atlanta..... I have an '82 with barely a spec of rust. PM me and maybe I can help find an item or two. Our yards each normally have 15 or 20 Third Gens without ANY rust (paint is faded like heck and the engines are TOASTED)! It's also not unusual to find a ThirdGen with an original Exhaust System....Try that in PA's Ice & Snow~
Sincerely,
Kurt
P.S. I can't wait to move back someday!

STROUDSBURG grad right here, accutally just graduated this year and like kboehringer im going to northampton community for a year or 2.
ive heard alot of good things about DeNaples too. i've never been up there personally, but a guy i work with goes up all the time for stuff for his vehicles. i'd love to check it out and see what they've got for me.
just like Mcdamit said, you can find them, ive got 2 of them in my driveway. both 87 Z's both rust free. not sure about the red iroc your speaking of, i live just outside of stroudsburg do you have any more details of what it looks like? ive seen a maroon IROC with a cowl hood out at the advance auto right across from PV high school, but thats the only one i can think of.
