BBQ at Nojoqui Falls

Did some one say Tri-tip?
I've posted the poll on SC3G for a date.

I'll organize the gig!

Nice! I haven't been to Nojoqui in years, and with all of the rain we had this past winter, I'm sure the falls are a' flowin'!

Just make sure it is after I get my ignition module from GMPD! lol.

Nojoqui Falls is in Northern Santa Barbara County, about 45min. north of SB, just south of Buellton off of the 101. Very nice County Park, lots of car club meets/shows there, plenty of shade, and natural waterfall/swimmin' hole! Used to go there all the time as a kid.

My wife expressed an interest. So we are on the positive side of maybe. Modded the water pump today and the car is running cooler even in the hot weather and with the air conditioning on. The trip to the Falls would be a good test. Allen

Mezierre electric water pump #WP-321S. Lot of high horsepower cars comming on line and some being upgraded. This is one of the reasons I bought the 140 amp alternator.

Took it for a spin this afternoon in the heat of the day to see how it is performing. So far so good. Gave it a good test.

OK I'm planning on BBQ'in at Nojoqui Falls on August 27th.
Like I said I'll bring the Tri-tip. I'll also provide the beans and butter for the bread since that needs cooking as well.
If you want I can get the salad and everything except for your drinks.
This may be easier on folks if everything was there but I'll need some reimbursement. If not then we can make a list and sign up.

Should have the 'vert back in action by then, so count me in so far!

I'd love to have my suspension dialed by then (it won't happen) so I can try to beat my previous speed record through the chicane at Gaviota Pass on S/B U.S. 101. I used to love that stretch of highway on a motorcycle!

I think it would be easier if everything is there, how much reimbursement per person would you need, Dwayne?

Having a cash donation option has worked out well at work pot-luck parties also because there would always be too much food and some people just don't like to cook. I like having the cash option.

It would be $5-10 no more then that.

The menu would be:
Tip
Beans
Salad
Garlic Bread
1 each 12 pack of Coke, diet coke, sprite, Dr. pep
Some snack stuff.

Lets say bring "some to share" for the dessert.

If we make it $10 I'll get a flippin cake.

Just post on the extra things like utinsils, plates, napkins, cups, and drinks - everyone should be able to bring at least enough for themselves

Why not, it was his idea in the first place!

Just kidding, if Dwayne is doing the shopping, cooking, and cleaning, I'll even kick in $15! (but only if we can do burnouts in the street w/o SBCo.'s finest showing up! )

We should plan a route that takes us over S/R 154 on the trip up. We could stop off at Cold Spring Tavern and get a roadie, then hit U.S. 101 for the return trip.

I have no problem bringing extra stuff (chips, sodas, utensils, etc.)

Double digits is a more than adequate start time for drinking. Hell, when we go out fishing it often starts as early as 7 or 8a.!

I may just make a weekend out of it and go visit the folks as well, they're just a hop, skip and a burnout away from Dwayne.

Pshhh. You guys and your 3-digit trap speeds.

I might show up, my Camaro is the definition of beater though, I don't know if you want to have that black sheep around

Might cruise out in a buddy's 69 Firebird though.

I live in Lompoc, so Nojui.. Nahooey.. Nojoqui, whatever is literally right around the corner. But a stone's throw away

Sounds like a good time, didn't know there were any Camaroers on this coast

Man, those are some excellent looking F-Bodies. It's gonna be cool to meet up with some other Camaro and Firebird folks that apparently know what they're doing.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Although, I would hope that after the rains we got this past winter, there would be a little more water than that at the falls.

I was thinking the same thing, about the falls. I went hiking yesterday and there is still alot of water in the local mountains. I've never been there but I bet it will be awesome.

Up until about a month ago, there was still snow at the highest peaks in the local mountains! I have done extensive hiking in Los Padres National Forest and SB County, and even in moderately wet winter seasons the mountain springs usually have a lot of water. The area where Nojoqui is located is loaded with natural springs- there is even a functional hot springs (with stinky sulphur water and all!) about 15-20 mins. south of Nojoqui that is part of Gaviota State Park (near the intersection of S.R. 1/U.S. 101).

I'm hoping we run into something like this:
