DIY TPI Gasket Sets
Well for the few who actually paid attension to any of my posts here is a bit of an update.
I went and got the intake gasket, manifold set, from autozone today.
I told myself, i will not buy another runner gasket set. And iam keeping to it.
SO i started pondering.
Drank a couple beers.
then it came to me,
I can mark out the model on cardboard. The kind boxes are made from.
And cut that up to the size and shape needed. When applying the gasket. Use a lot of copper gasket spray sealant. As it helps keep the gasket water resistant. And helps in the long run many times over.
but after i finished a mockup set of gaksets, and set them up to the plenum, and checked it out. I'd say, that once the cardbaord compressed and stuff. It'd be a pretty stout seal and everything.
Has anyone on here even done this before?

they didn't have gasket paper, except the kind with metal inside. I catn cut that stuff..
So i made my own gaskets.
I used Poster board carbcoard. The solid stuff for my gaskets.
Then i added a laminent, thart when heated, doesn't really melt it gegs sticky. So with the blow dryer i firmed up the lamiant, and made sure the gaskets were straight.
but the key really is the copper sealant, makes the seal from the start, then when the engine gets warm later, the laminant will melt, and seal it for good. No questions asked.
its a nice cheap, FREE!! gasket and only took 2 hours to perfect. And size the bores properly.
PS: i used door drill bits for the bores, made for a nice clean circle.

well if i coulda went and bought them, i woulda. but no dealership had them. and autozone, had to order them, they said since its the weekend, they'd be here monday.
I said screw it, and asked for gasket material. And to my luck they didn't have the proper material.
But the way i made mine, it'll be as good, if not better then stock.
Plus it was alot easier to port match the gaskets to help flow. Any difference in the size of the bores is bad for flow.
