HRP's reply to email about Fri night

I sent 2 emails to Gerald @ HRP about our bad Friday night experiance. One is below. The other addressed the fact of ESC's pit being vandalized, the track not selling nitrous, and about them turning off the pit area lights just a couple minutes after the last pass on the strip....no reply to that one yet!
------------------------------------------------------------

Gerald,

This is Craig, the guy in the Thirdgen car club, that had our drag strip
portion of our annual meet at HRP Fri night. I want to again say "Thanks"
for the club discount admission and tech cards. Of the 12 that teched,
only 8 or 9 got the info in time about the discount, but that was because
of my late request, not anything on your part.

However, there is a bunch of thirdgenners running around in Houston, that
are really upset and disappointed at how the night turned out. We did have
about 12+ cars that teched in and several more there just to watch. After
very long waits in the staging lanes (over an hour for me personally to
make 1 run), most were only able to get in one run--a couple were able to
get two runs before the 10.5 qual round. and the mad scramble to get in
one pass afterwards, completely killed the inner club elimination ladder
and grudge matches we had set up!

In earlier e-mails we traded, I expressed a concern about being able to
get in enough runs with the rescheduled 10.5 show. U assured me that
(although this not an exact quote) we would stay as long as needed to
accommodate everybody because of the rescheduled show. Based on that, we
left our deal scheduled for that night, rather than rescheduling it as I
originally thought we should have.

Not only was everybody PO'ed that we could not run our program, they were
upset that they were only able to get in 2 maybe 3 runs for the whole
night. At this point the next meet, everybody at the moment, is of the
opinion, to have it somewhere else, which is a shame because HRP is such a
nice facility, but everybody has a dad taste in their mouth right now for
HRP.

Thank You,

Craig Landry

Craig,

I apologize for us not being able to properly take care of your
eliminations. I did speak with our staff and it was a priority to
accommodate the Thirdgen group. I know I cannot fix what transpired, but I
would like to invite your group to come out and try again at our
expense. I would like to invite all 12 members to come out at a time that
will be convenient for you all and either complete your club race or just
have a good time. I am sorry that I was wrong about getting your race
completed and that our staff did not place the importance on the club I
thought I had expressed. Entirely my fault.

We appreciate your support and do want to have our place be the only place
your club would like to visit.

Please let me now if I can help out and even let me know if you have
another option - We would like to make it up to you.

Thanks

Gerald

Outstanding, thats what I like to see. If only more people could handle a situation like that. That is the HRP I know.

So. when do we all want to get together and use out freebe?

Their calender shows them open the first three weeks in Dec on Fri and Sun. The calendar is not posted past that. Don't know what the schedule will be.

Somebody send them an email and ask if they will be open in Jan/Feb.

I went to the oreilly autorama on saturday night and HRP had their own setup. I was signing up for some free tickets and I talked to one of the guys who was there and told him about the problem that all the guys who wanted to race had that night and he said that HRP isnt very organized. I was kinda suprised he would say that but maybe it was just bad luck that night.

Well they weren't very organized this specific night, but normally they are. I say we should do it in January after the holidays, like 2nd or 3rd weekend.

I sent an email to Gerald @ HRP today, telling him that we do apprciate his reply and will take him up on his freebe offer.

Told him that we do not have a date yet, and also asked him about the tracks schedule for the next couple months.

Will post reply when received.

Craig,

We will be racing the first Friday after Jan 1 and maintain our Friday and Sunday Schedule - I should have the updated schedule posted online by next Friday.

I can send you a separate email or preferably I could get a list from you we could use at the gate.

Let me know the date and if you can compile a list and we will set things up for you. When you set the date, I will see if I can be here, I would like to meet you and thank you all for supporting us.

Thanks

Gerald
