Thanks for sharing that pic 91, I have to look at it and I will let you know. I don't know if I like it yet but it looks pretty darn rad
It looks like there is a little of all 3 gens in there.

Front fenders are 3rd-gen. Grill is late-model 2nd-gen. Roof line/pillars are pure first-gen, and last (but not least) the rear is a later-model Cobra. Before you all kill me, take a look at the damn thing. Especially the vents in front of the rear tires.
It's hard to tell from that shot, but the very rear-end of the car also seems to have a sort of 'vette look to it.
Overall I have to say I don't like it. DFamn thing rides too high. Looks to much like the 4th and 5th-gen Stangs as far as stance goes. Camaros have always been slung lower and farther back then the Mustang.
All in all though, throw an next-generation 350 in it and I'll drive it and shut up.

Vents in front of the rear tires, they remind me of the 68 Firebird my friend has. It has some vents in the same area.
btw, looks like the article was taken down.

The actual vents themselves are a dirrect usage from the 69 F-bodies:
However it's placement on the car is more where Ford had it. Quick picture I whipped up in MS Paint:

I see alot of thirdgen in the fender flares obviously, and a little in the front end. I guess you could say the grill is 2ndgen a little, but the overall shape and angle looks more like a mix of the 3rdgen and 1stgen, although obviously with a grill ala the 2ndgen whereas the thirdgen didn't really have a grill at all.
It's badass, looks worlds better than the 4thgen, and I will be getting one if I can in any way do it. That with at least a 400hp LS2 will be so freakin sweet it will be unbelievable.
340-350ish RWHP bone dead factory stock is flat out amazing, I will be all over it....

lots of visual hints there from all gens.. especially the rear tire vents and the front end. to me the front end looks more reminisitic of a first gen firebird.. kinda looks like a shark.
at first glance I don't really like it.. however I'm sure it'll grow on me.. especially it is given a new generation LSx block. However you do realize that no matter what they do with it, the corvette will always be faster because of marketing.
Otherwise Asdfga3 hit the nail on the head!

Here's a shot I pulled off the video (still have the window open, eat me Road and Track, lol)
You can see the rear end is rounded quite a bit, really doesn't look that much like a mustang rear to me, I think it was just the angle of the original pic... The roofline screams Camaro, and the quarter shape looks freakin awesome to me and looks a heck alot of more like a Corvette than any mustang...

This thing looks awesome to me, these following pics are linked off my webspace, hopefully it doesn't die:
I see alot of new corvette in the quarters/shoulder area:

The profile is more or less awesome IMO:

Rear shot, I'm not too crazy about the exhaust tip shape, easy enough to change though (I'll be getting a catback anywho...):

A lot of people don't like the front/grill, I think it looks badass up close:

The thing is freakin scowling at you, MEAN:

I thought the actual unvieling wasnt until monday 11am?
Glad to see the pics, if the past does anything for us at all, it tells that GM concepts tend to be much more "concept like" than what comes to production. Just thinking back to the 4th Gen "Banshee" like concept.
I like what I see so far, it looks big to me... like not very camaro like. Very high center of gravity.... not sure though, its hard to tell in the pics posted.
I like the front end, looks damn mean. I dont like the back, its to C6 like for my taste. Needs to get toned down and 1 piece tailights on each side... mmm

I think they did a good job with the front end. The back of the car needs to get toned down from how much it looks like a corvette. I think they could have gotten away with it if they hadnt went with the 2 piece tailights...

I have had a good amount of time to study the entire car now, thanks to everyone who have posted pics, and I l kind of like it. I love 1st gens, hate second gen's and live and breathe third gens, fourth gens are IMO junk I like the rear more than the front but it will grow on me. The car looks pretty mean but with the way cars are built these days I will stick with my third gen. There are a few things I really like about the car at first glance like the contours of the back glass and quarters (screaming first gen) but I cannot be sure if I would buy once unsless it was very limited.

The more I look at it, the more I like it.
If you can find the video, watch it. The guy who designed the C6, designed the 5th Gen Concept.
I think that explains alot about the Rear end.
I would like to see a single tail light on each side, and lower the rear bumper a little and get rid of the 2 cannons. have em point towards the ground 3rd gen style!

I pulled the shots from the video R&T had up before they pulled the page.
You can still get at the video I think at mms://c9o.earthcache.net/woc-01.media.globix.net/COMP000787MOD1/roadandtrack/2006/0601_camaro_hi.wmv
I'll be surprised if they don't take it down pretty soon though, when they realize the link is out...
Just paste that in your browser and you can view it, may ask you to launch an external application (Media Player or whatever) though depending on your browser. You can't right click/save as though, won't work...
You can try something like this program http://sdp.ppona.com/ to save the streaming video, worked for me.

Im glad it's returning, but the thing is following the dodge and ford conept of a big bulky, yet new age model.....its way too damn big and in some shots represents a small suv......and they still need to make better side mirrors, those things will put an eye out
...it needs deep dish rims too....but I can do that myself

The car looks to much like it was built for 22"in rims. Sorry but that thing looks big and bulky just like the dodge charger that came out amd I have yet to see one looks sporty. Soon as it hits everybody gonna be throwing big wheels at it.
Overall though Im just glad the mustang is gonna have something to fight with for a parking spot.

At first I didnt like it either. Whoever said it sat too high and forward was right. The back part of the window just looks a little awkward. I also would have loved to see the third gen headlights on it...My favorite part is the slight curve to the hood and fenders that the first gens had. It is, ultimately, mean looking.

It looks awesome to me! The only thing that I would like to see different is the pointy nose, but Im sure I'd get used to that.
If I still lived in the US, I'd be in line to sign up!

Fix the nose a bit. Slightly better rims. And maybe do something to the paint/body to give it more contrast. Not bad at all for a concept.

Looks alright.... I mean its not to bad. Reminds me of a dodge.. If thats the design it will grow on me, esp the LSx engine. It kinda looks like a Bullet. 3rd gens are still the best looking Fbodies! I like the design that kid made. Its so much better. I think GM is going down hill and running out of designs. Fenders do look similar to a 3rd gen.

If GM can mass produce that and price it right, they will have a winner for the first time in who knows how long.
