Is your Camaro white? I see a white Camaro around that area a lot.
I live out in Rita Ranch. I'd be cool with meeting up with people, just depends on the date and time. (And what the gf has planned.. you know how that goes.)
Here's my car, if ya ever see me driving around the southeast side... wave.

Is that this coming weekend or the one after that?
If you guys ever meet up at SIR, I'm there. I need to get some times on my car, after I get a battery tie-down.
Dirk: Who do you host the site with? My gf does web design/hosting and it makes me curious about that kinda stuff.

Hey guys, I live on DMAFB, so I can meet anywhere in Tucson. If ya'll want to meet for breakfast or something, we can meet at Dennys or IHOP. Just eat and hang for a while. Then we can make plans to do something that night (Speedway???). Let's do it. Thomas

Is your Camaro white? I see a white Camaro around that area a lot.
I also drive a white Camaro. It's an 1987 IROC-Z with red graphics. Other than a cowl induction hood and 4th gen exhaust tips, the car looks stock. And every once in a while, I drive my red 1987 Z28 convertible.
I live out in Rita Ranch.
So do I. How'd you like to swing by sometime?
Tim Burgess, our Electronics board moderator, also lives in Tucson. Between Tim and myself, I believe we have the two quickest 305's on this board.
I'm planning on going to SIR on Friday, March 15. Anyone interested?

I'd be interested, but I think I just broke either my torque converter or my flexplate. (At least I hope it's not the transmission.) So I'm going to be driving the VW awhile now. heh
But I'd still be down with watching you guys run and hanging out.. I can't run the Bug since it doesn't have seatbelts.

I'm down with SIR... and now the Iroc is back in commission once again, so just need a battery tie-down and I'm good. Turns out I have a broken cat that only rattles when it's heated up. While I was down there I fixed my leaking oil cooler.. I'll be making a small article about stock oil coolers soon since I found very little info about it anywhere, including Haynes.
I saw two thirdgen Camaros in Rita Ranch today while I was gassing up the bug... you guys already invading the area?

I'll e-mail you my phone number. Call me and let's get together. I'm free today (Sunday).
BB91:
We very much appreciate your offer to host our get together. But considering that most everyone who is part of this conversation lives on the east side, I feel we should hold it on the east side (at least this time). I'll volunteer my house.
Everyone:
I'm planning on running at SIR this Friday, March 15. Typically, we meet at my house and caravan from here. Any takers?
I ran on March 1 and it was a waste of time and money. It was very windy and very cold. And I've never seen as many cars running as I did that night. I got there about 6:30pm and got my only pass in around 9pm.
I don't know what the turnout will be on the 15th, so I'd like to go much earlier this time, say around 4:30pm. I'd like to get one pass in just as the track is opening.

I am not in Tucson, but in Sierra Vista, actually Fort Huachuca. New to the third gen and looking for ideas. Now, it only a 6, so I have decided to work on suspension forst, but I would like to make a road trip. I will keep an eye on the board.

Man, too bad I didn't see this sooner! I'm down, I live around kolb and irvington. Right next to the big beige tower thing at one of the entrances of the air force base. You all know what I'm talking about! Someone might have seen my car around. It's dark green with a oxidizing hood?

Willie - I'll go down to SIR with you Friday.. just need to know where to meet up. I might ask a little guidance from you since I've never raced there before. I'm putting a battery tie-down on this week, so I should pass tech... but I just don't know what order things are done in, etc.

No problem. If you can send me your e-mail address, I can attach a document that explains the basics of drag racing. If not, I can print you a copy when we meet.
I have also started a new thread titled, "March 15, Racing at SIR (Tucson)"

Saturday's out for me. I'm spending the day searching junkyards for a part for my A/C, and the evening doing 2 weeks worth of Algebra homework.

I was planning on going North of Valencia / East of Alvernon behind the power plant. There's a bunch of yards back there and I figure at least one of them should have the part I need. =)
What parts do you need? I have a few Iroc parts in my garage.

I need a tan screw for the rear spare tire cover and the white plastic thing behind it. Also, I need a IROC Z gfx emblem and the piece of trim the holds the back of the headliner up. Maybe see if I can find a decent drivers seat. If you dont have it, maybe I can go junkin' with you. I have not been to any around here looking yet. Thomas

Go to Parts for Less on East Illinois Street. They are one of my favorites. They have at least one dozen F-bodies.

Parts for Less
4302 E. Illinois St.
571-7899
Go to yahoo.com, click on Maps, type in the address and you'll get a map with their location. It is a couple of blocks away from Irvington/Alvernon. Or go to the yellow pages under Auto Parts & Supplies -- Used & Rebuilt and look for their display ad.
I haven't been there in months, so I don't know what they have currently.
88aziroc, will you be able to make it to SIR tomorrow?

Guys,
Most junk yards are closed on Saturday. I know Parts for Less used to be open half day on Saturday, but I think they're now closed. You might want to call ahead.

Damn.
They were open Saturdays when I was a kid looking for parts with my dad. =/
So I have to take more time off work to look for parts? Sheesh.
I just called, Parts for Less is 8-5, Monday through Friday and that's it.

I would love to get together with my fellow 3rd gen brothers and sisters. I live in the Speedway & Kolb area. You can't miss me, I've got a white Z-28 with a black cowl hood. I usually have the stereo loud as hell, usually. Send me an email if anybody wants to get together another weekend.
Does anyone want to head to the yards tommorrow? I am off so I can go. Anyone????? Willie, I should be there, but not gonna run my car because I have a tranny leak and my rear is making some funny noise. Gonna get it checked tommorrow. Thomas

Nope.
I don't have a hook-up on my car for towing... or a motorcycle.
Probably the only things that my car has specific to it are 3 inch exhaust pipes the end behind the bumper, a flowmaster sticker under the license plate (which I can't get off), no fog lights, and I'm missing the Iroc-Z cap on my right rear wheel.

I'd go out to SIR tonite except I have other plans that I cannot break, again.
I could probably meet everybody the next weekend. I also read in a magazine that Super Chevy is also supposed to be here in the next couple of weeks but SIR doesn't show it. Oh well.
Willie: I've seen your car a few time and I've got one thing to say, DAMN. That's one bad ride! Do you also have a Red vert? I work out at the UA research park and I think I've seen that one a few times also.
87_Camaro: Yeah, my hood is the bolt on version. I'm always around on the weekends if you want to take a look. Just shoot me an email.

I'm planning on going to SIR again on April 5th. Hopefully, you can make it then.

The Super Chevy Show will be at SIR in November. Last year they were here in November. They were here four years ago (the first time). It was at this show that I won my class with my convertible.

Yes, I also own a red Z28 ragtop. I drive it every once in a while. I work at the research park also, for Raytheon in Bldg 9072. Where do you work?

Thats great we all need to get to gether where we can, check each others cars out. Lets pick a place besids SIR so we have time to talk and it doesn't cost as much. Then we can go down and run times. I have mods I have done and need to check out, and would like to see what you'all have done. but it would be cool to do it befor or after the test and tune on friday night . I am still willing to do a BBQ or what ever for a Tucson Gathering. I have plenty of room and the neibors will understand.
