i have acdelco durastop from gm on mine and i love them; also have the upgraded pads which i highly recommend.

if your looking for true stopping power you need to look into a 2 piston caliper or higher setup. start up around 1 grand and more.

i've driven 1-le cars with the larger size rotors as well as my own with just improved stock rotors an pads and they feel close to the same; definately not as good as a baer type setup though.

here's an old pic.

I got the Powerstops front and rear. Still putting the car together though so I have not been able to drive it yet. The rears have a gold coating that will wear off when driven. Here are some pics.

Here is with them on after re-doing the rear end with 3.70 gears and Hotchkis LCA, panhard rod and springs. Also have Spohn LCA relocators.

Don't exactly remember the price of them. It was less than $400 for all 4 of them. They are a snap to install. The fronts are silver in color. The gold on the backs will wear off after a little use.

mine i ordered through gm it came out to a little over 400 for all 4, mine are cross drilled an slotted........basically the only difference.

i would also like to know why they are gold or copper like that in the rear. typically most "cheaper" rotors are like that because they are made of a different material that doesn't have to have the same strength as the front........but, then of course some are just that color.

mine are silver all around......pics look good dragula.

Does anyone have the part numbers necessary for just the front rotors? Either the powerstop or GM ones. And I also want some good ceramic brake pads, so they don't leave too much dust. Can anyone recommend some ceramic pads to go with these rotors? Thanks

The gold is just a coating on the metal. If you look closely, you can see where it is already starting to wear off. These are difinitely not "cheap" rotors. They are great quality, just gold. The fronts were covered with a rust proofing grease, the backs are coated with the gold stuff.

Part numbers for the Powerstop rotors: AR8213L and AR8213R.
I don't think I noticed a difference in stopping power, but then again, I wasn't expecting one. I just got it for the looks because of the huge gaps in my wheels. Mine have been on the car since March of 2000, and they are still good, straight, unwarped, uncracked (at least visibly), ungrooved, and very cool looking.

The best mod you can do for better braking without getting bigger rotors is getting bigger tires.

Just as JZA said, they are better looking. If I wanted greatly enhanced braking I would drop the un-godly amount of money that Baer wants for their systems. I don't race the car, so I don't need huge brakes.

Do you have to turn these in between pad changes? How? And pad suggestions.....I have Bosch pads now and they suck!

"that gold stuff" is a zinc wash.

ever notice how most brakes get all rusty where the pad doesnt contact the rotor? this is suppost to stop that.

but they cant zinc wash the fronts since the hub is part of the rotor... i dont think the bearings will like little pieces of it running around in there.. heh..

if you look close enough you can see where it has started to wear off from use.

can't keep things perfect if you use them, they sure work great though!
