UPDATED: 081 TPI Heads, new starter, front accessories, ETC

There was more interest in individual parts than the complete set-up.

'90 305 TBI with 34k original miles
- LT1 Cam
-081 305TPI heads w/ following upgrades
  • 1.94/1.55 valves
  • Machined Valve guides with springs for .525" lift
  • slight bowl port work
  • Pressed in studs removed for screw in units with guideplates
-SLP 1-3/4 Non AIR headers with y pipe with second bung welded in for WB02 sensor (sold)
-Cat-Co 3" stock direct replacement cat (sold)
-3" Single exit Flowmaster Cat-back
-K&N Filter and Extreme Lid with stock ported TBI unit and 454 vacuum adj FPR
-Front accessories minus AC compressor (going to reuse that)
-Edelbrock Performer TBI intake manifold bored to 2" (so you can run stock or larger TBI unit) (sold)
-All sensors, wiring, ECM and ignition with stock dizz, MSD wires, and coil.

Heads and headers have zero miles on them and maybe 15 minutes of run time. I put the motor back together after the head swap and started the car once. Never drove it and time for a new set-up (yes I am dumb). Does not include Flywheel or T5 (sale pending on that).

Re: 081 TPI Heads, SLP Headers, Edelbrock Intake, Misc performance parts

$500 shipped for the headers (comes with correct size bolts, gaskets and thermo shields) Have 10 minutes of run time on them and are basically 99% brand new.

$600 shipped for the heads (the work alone on these was a lot more). Same run time as headers, ten minutes. I will throw in the head bolts too (they are new and have been torqued once but you might still want new ones)

$800 for the long block (pan to intake manifold, minus TBI set-up and ignition, 34k miles second owner).

$250 for the shortblock (no intake or heads but will include oil pan, cam, timing chain)

$130 shipped for the Edelbrock TBI intake manifold

Here are some pictures of the cat for those that PM'd me. It didn't even get dirty when i fired the motor. I belive this is Cat-Co 9114 with air tube. I will double check that part number.

All front accessories for sale as well, (brakets, bolts, idler, alternator, water pump, NO AC, No Air Pump).

It isn't the part number, I thought it was from memory.

It is Cat-Co 9118.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CTO-9118/

Headers reduced to $450 OBO shipped. Looks like the gaskets will need to be replaced, despite the short run time. I think these SLP gaskets are one and done.

Re: UPDATED: 081 TPI Heads, Edelbrock TBI Intake, new starter, front accessories

I take it from the last 2 pictures the whole thing is disassembled now? I'm looking for a shot of the way the accessories line up across the front of the driver's side head to decide if converting to the later serpentine setup (I have an '87) will help me fit stuff in.

Here is a picture, as best it can be, from when it was ont he car. I can get some shots later of the system off the car. If you have an '87 this stuff should work fine. '86 was the last year for the old style serp set-up.

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town for a few days.

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town for a few days.
I have 2 87's... the 87 is identical to the '82-86 except it has a 4 rib belt instead of the V on the alt. I want to run a coolant bypass out the front of the heads so I need to make sure the area that I intend to plumb is clear...

When I get home later I will grab a few photos. I forgot to do that.

Re: UPDATED: 081 TPI Heads, new starter, front accessories, ETC

on the v-belt setup I have clearance under the alternator on the passenger side, but on the driver's side the top of the PS pump is in the way, I've been wondering if converting to the later serp setup moves the PS pump enough that I could make room for the rest

Here are a few pics for you. Not pictured is the water pump, but this set-up will bolt up to any 87+ heads/block set-up.
