i have a hypertech thermomaster chip for sale for $50.00 shipped anywhere
the part number is 128922 and the sn# 151282 ITS FOR 89 CAMARO/FIREBIRD 350 automatic without v.a.t.s (c) code. I spoke with hypertech and they said they have seen gains of 15 to 20 hp and 20 to 25 tq from these chips for 20 years so they do work. I can't use it because it's not the right one for my car.these chips retail for over 200 bucks.

 

Did someone reprogram out the vats? The last 128922 I had had vats selected on it.

 

well it doesn't work with my computer i need an x code chip i asked hypertech and they said it was because gm added vats in the middle of the year and my vehicle had it, so there are 6 different chip codes for that year and this one is (c)

 

the is a vats select in the programming the resister code is not determined by the memcal programing but by the vats module. The vats module are matched to the different key resisters.

 

did you get a code 51 when installed or something ?

 

i never installed it hypertech said it wouldn't work they said it would start then kill right away

 

(if you have vats it will work) in a 1227165 ecm it uses $6e programing. who ever you talked to is uninformed . you should go grab a 7mm nut driver and a 5/16 wrench disconnect you battery and install it. You'll have it swapped out in 15 min or less.

 

i gave them he four letter code off the stock chip and they said the one i have is not compatable i need a xdr 3176 128922 chip, the one i have is a (c) code i need an (x) code

well i put it in and it worked great in fact i felt a noticable difference thanks man

 

If you want to sell the stock one let me know.
