Parting out new 3rd gen track car build

I have been pricing 1991 Corvettes lately and have seen a few I'd like to buy and drop my engine into. However, that's going to require that I make some room in the garage. My thinking is to strip the current car and sell off the parts, then buy a Corvette. The big question is, can I find a buyer for the bare/mostly bare chassis? And, can I find enough boxes to ship all of this stuff or setup local pick up or delivery (either on my way "somewhere" or to a race event where stuff can travel the rest of the distance with friends, etc)? I hope to start stripping the car fairly soon and put everything in the corner of the garage.

Anyway, it's been so long that I don't even know what some of these parts cost new (or currently), so I picked a few prices based on what I think I remember retail to be (and discounted it). If I'm crazy, let me know. Most things are a little negotiable, combine stuff is even better (like if you want the chassis, brakes, seat, etc...lets talk). If you see something you want and don't like the price, make me an offer.

Prices don't include shipping.

1992 Camaro Z28 chassis. Bare. Includes front fenders, pedals, brake booster, master cylinder, chassis hard brake lines, doors, cage, fuel tank (pump and sending unit), tail lights, rear hatch. I have a clean title in hand for the chassis. You can't have this cage built/installed somewhere for this price.

1750 SOLD

Disk brake 10 bolt. The axle has the following: 3.73 rear gears, Eaton posi, Moser axles, Aluminum rear support cover, Hawk HPS pads and good rotors. It's a factory rear disk brake axle with all new guts and the PHB bracket welded onto it from an unbalanced engineering PHB relocation kit. (I might even consider parting out the rear if we get that far)

1100 (Sold)

I also have a Torsen T2 (4th gen regular torsens) and an Auburn Racers diff (I have no idea what condition the clutches are in). Racerdad916 has his pick of them and the rest will be looking for new homes. Price TBA.

1992 "Chin spoiler" (the part that's always getting damaged under the nose, the lower part of the ground effects kit). Not sure I can ship this one.

195 (these things have been priced far higher than that recently, or...make me an offer) SOLD

Jegs switch panel with master switch (and light) and push button start switch. Aluminum panel with 1 3/4" roll cage mounts included.

40 Reduced to $25 SOLD

T56 transmission (LT1) with bellhousing (fits SBC) (1,200 miles on rebuild by Danny Popp)

$1295 (unless I get it apart and we put the steel 3-4 shift fork in it first). Looks like it's getting the steel 3/4 shift fork (and maybe bronze pads and billet synchro keys while it's apart). I'll update the price when I get the parts totals.

325 (Sold)

Gauges have about 15 minutes of run time on them (while setting the timing on the engine, all were brand new when the cage went in and it's only been on and off a trailer since then with the exception of the wideband O2, it has about 1k miles on it).

Are the calipers powder coated? If so, what color? Are the rotors standard vented style or cross drilled, zinc washed etc? Do you take PayPal?

Re: Parting out new 3rd gen track car build

I have someone interested in most of the car. Assuming it sells as most of a car, I'll see if these parts are going to be leftover (I know there are some things he can't use for the racing class he's looking at running). If they are, here's the answers to your questions.

They are standard vented rotors and stock calipers (no zinc washing, powdercoating, cross drilling, etc).

Re: Parting out new 3rd gen track car build

so 595.00 would net modified spindles , brackets and standard hubs with machined 3rd gen rotors to mount the new rotors to?

Yes...or basically yes. I think the hubs are aftermarket hubs and not cut down 3rd gen rotors, but I want to take a look at them before I absolutely swear that to be correct.

Lingenfelter said they had these driveshafts on cars that dyno'd in the 750 hp range. They seem pretty stout. It's a 3.5" aluminum driveshaft.

"Single line" style. You're about 3rd in line for them. I'll let you know as soon as I know more.

Thanks!

I expect that I am going to sell it in pieces. You're about the third one in line for it. I'll keep the thread updated.

I believe it's good to something over 200 mph with 4.10 gears. I've never had an issue with vibration.

Re: Parting out new 3rd gen track car build

Alright, sounds good! Assuming there are no special u-joints or whatever needed for this, just plug and play one (at least for a combo like 10bolt & T56), and milage/condition is about those 1200miles and then some? Also do you have any pictures of that one?
Oh and shipping would go to 77054 TX, don't worry about my location in Austria Any idea about costs of domestic shipping?
Thanks
edit: to make it real, if the above assumptions check out good: dibs!

It's a drop in for a T56 and 10 bolt. It was in my 4th gen for a while and now in my 3rd gen. It's got more than the 1,200 miles on it (I forgot about carrying that part over). It was in a street car for a couple years (my 2002 Z28). Let me get it out, get you pics and find out the shipping cost (and verify if you are first or second in line for it, I have started a list at home to keep track).

Re: Parting out new 3rd gen track car build

Alright. So maybe like 5000, max. 10kmls? If you don't find any serious damage when you remove it, I'm down for it Btw shipping looks like 30-ish domestic (will be in TX all February) and 90-ish to Austria, both would be okay for me.
Thanks!

I know I had expressed interest in it but gotta pass as getting my engine back together is priority so put Andi in front of me. Good deal though on a nice driveshaft!

Re: Parting out new 3rd gen track car build

If i can find a liwermilage rear elsewhere in the next week or so, i may be interested in the clutch and flywheel. You wouldnt happen to have a p/n on the clutch kit and approx. milage and usage? And maybe a set of Irocs...

This rear has 1,200 miles on it and is in excellent condition. I've decided I will likely seperate it from the car. I will have to pull the part number on the clutch. It has 1,200 miles on it (much of which is just tuning while driving it around at varying loads and speeds). I suspect it will be virtually new when I get it out (I'm really easy on clutches and mine tend to last forever). Once it comes out I can get pics. It's the Centerforce Dual Friction kit for a 93-97 F-body.

The rear is recently built, rear brakes, UE PHB lowering kit, 3.73 rear gears, Eaton posi, Moser axles, Aluminum rear support cover. It's a factory rear disk brake axle with all new guts. There's about $1500 in the rear end plus the price of a factory disk brake rear. I'm asking $1,100 OBO. What do you consider a fortune?

I'm interested in the LCA's. What's the color and part number for the LCA's you have?

Do you have any pics? How long did you have them on your car, and what condition are they in (i.e. how badly did you abuse them)? Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between offset & no offset. Would you do $150 shipped? And the last of my barage of questions: Did you want a Money order or paypal?

They were on the car for something under 1k miles. They should be in virtually new condition (this was never a street car). The rod ends are likely "perfect". It saw some autocross runs and 2 sessions on track at nashville super speedway. No drag racing, no sticky tires. The offset bushings allow the LCA's to be moved inboard to give a little more tire clearance right at the "gap" (3:00 on the passengers side, 9:00 on the drivers side) where the tire can rub the stock LCA's.

I take money orders and paypal.

Is there any detriment to using the offset on a street car? If not, I'll take 'em. Is $150 shipped a good price? If so, PM me your paypal info.

With the Y pipe welded solid (it has stainless pipes where the cats were), I'm not sure I can get it in a box. Let me get it out of the car and see how long the sections are and what it will take to get it in a box.

It's out. I forgot to get a pic. I was trying to remember how long I used it. I'm guessing it has 40-50k on it (no drag strip time, mostly just street miles). I'll try to get pics tonight.

T56, clutch, flywheel, shifter, bellhousing, radiator, cooling fan, power steering cooler are all out of the car now. I'm still trying to get enough boxes to pack everything. And I still forgot to get pics of the driveshaft...

If you want the injectors, they can be seperated. I'll need something larger for the next project. I was hoping to see $200 + freight out of them. They literally have 1,200 miles on them.

I believe it's this set (the receipt I have says Accel injectors but the color is different on them as I remember).

I will gladly keep the TB for the new project. The injectors may have a home already (see above). I'd like to keep the rails with the intake. Seems more likely to sell as a package? I might be flexible. Would you consider the intake and fuel rails together?
