Excuse my ignorance but...What is the point of these? Lighter weight? Quicker steering ratio? Are they a direct bolt in? Manual or power? Thanks.

Thanks, James. Interesting how-to but I'm wondering why you would do this in the first place? Is it simply an inexpensive repair / upgrade or is there a performance advantage?

Like mentioned, its improves handling/steering. I put these on both my car and noticed a big difference. No more crappy stock rag joint, simple install.
