Ok I have a '89 GTA that I have had for 19 years and it came from the factory with a CD player. I recently had that one refurbished and no longer need the spare that I bought years ago. The one I'm selling does light up (Pontiac red) and plays radio stations but playing a CD does not work. All buttons are there and again it does tune to radio stations as I hooked it up to my GTA to test.

EDIT: just noticed the 1 through 5 numbered buttons don't light but all others do.

Note: not sure what year cars this will fit but I do know that it works in my '89 , please do your homework before buying as this is a "AS IS" sale.
If you have radio controls on your steering wheel it might not work ? not positive on that though , I have NO controls and that's what I'm going on.

The best I would do is $125 also I went to a local stereo sales and repair for home and auto and they ended up sending it to some place in Detroit for repair , they couldn't fix it so they sent it there.

I wonder what year this was pulled out of then. I have a factory unit in my '89 GTA and it is definitely different design. What place did you have do the refurbing? I am having issues with it not picking up up / down signals properly on the tuning ****. CD player still works though

 

This radio is dated 1990 , it matches my factory radio from my '89. As for where it was sent I really can't remember where it went as the place I originally had taken it too said they couldn't fix it so they sent it someplace else to be fixed.

 

Here is the CD player after complete overhaul.

Note how the buttons on the left have hairline cracks on their surface, from decades of the pieces sitting in parts bins.

Also the outside bezel (not the face bezel) is a darker grey than the last I had redone. Plus my last one came with the clear plastic peel off protector plastic still on the face over the display, this one did not.

This is as good as it gets guys. Not many parts (buttons, face, etc.) left to rebuild these things. The internals are plentiful though and only $135 for the entire cd player guts.

If anyone who reads this has one of these for sale, please contact me! I want to get another as a spare, I'll buy in any condition as I'll have that one R&R'd too.
