Passenger door won't open

Passenger door won't open
So my Camaro has shaved door handles (bought it that way). Only the drivers door has a popper. Passenger door has always had to be opened from the inside. Was cruising around with friends yesterday and when we went to leave we couldn't get the passenger door to open. You can hear the latch mechanism working. Wondering if the door got shut at a bad angle and got jammed. Whats the best course of action I can take?

Re: Passenger door won't open
-1 point for shaved door handles! I do not have shaved door handles. I had issues opening/closing the driver's side door. With the door open, my mechanic applied a little lube to the latch mechanisim and...voila! The problem was solved.

Re: Passenger door won't open
This sounds really dumb, but perhaps the striker/latch alignment got off. Have you tried having someone on the outside pushing in on the door right around the handle area while someone is on the inside trying to open it? Just a thought?

STOP!
No need to try and destroy door panel trying to remove it on a closed door!
Roll down window
Look down into the rear of door at the latch and lock and handle rods
Fashion a rod with a hook on the end
Prob down inside the door and both move the lock rod
then the latch rod
Open the door!

Re: Passenger door won't open
It can probably be done with the door closed, it's just going to be a lot harder, and you're probably going to break most of the clips, but they're cheap and readily available. I've done it before on a B-Body car without destroying the door panel, and I think I was only maybe 16 at the time, so chances are I wasn't the most careful with it either. In my case, one of the nylon latch rod clips had broken, and the latch rod got jammed in the latch. I remember fixing it with a twist tie from a loaf of bread as I had not yet been introduced to zip ties at the time.
