Doing a 350 carb swap bought the Holley brackets from jegs getting it all hooked up and the tv cable is too long was wondering if anyone ran into the same problem and what cable you used

Re: Tv cable too long

92kyle - I had the same issue with a QF Carb - I bought a part called Sonnex cable adjuster - it takes the slack out of the cable - you can fine tune to however you want to shift, etc. I gives back adjustability. Research it a bit and see if you think that will work for you. I had to buy 4 or 5 of them. I have 3 or 4 left. Byron

Re: Tv cable too long

What did you swap from? TPI? TBI? There are cables of different lengths. If memory serves, the TPI cable isn't suited to a carb swap.

Re: Tv cable too long

You may need this TV cable corrector. The cable geometry is very precise and the stud has to be in the correct location.
Check this out.

Re: Tv cable too long

Maybe post up a picture of the situation. There are a number of variables that can affect the overall operation.

Re: Tv cable too long

The issue is there is not enough adjustability in the Holley bracket. This is one of the reasons why I like the CSR bracket. You can adjust the throttle connection and the TV cable connection independently. I used the CSR bracket and my stock TPI throttle cable and TV cable. Worked fine.

Congrats on the little one! I have three myself. Never a dull moment!

Re: Tv cable too long

I'll have to check into that. This is my 3rd also, I wouldn't trade them for the world. I need to get this car running and driving though my oldest is 6 and he's not exactly into going to the garage to help me yet. I'm hoping that when he hears it loping and goes for a ride he will be more interested.
This is the 2 yr old she loves helping daddy
