Re: rear window louver hardware

I big red's email first so may have sold them, these are from a 90, he has 86 and I told him to check for compatibility, I know 88-90 are identical, and I gave him the old parts book numbers, group 11.210 Sunshade, part # 10031857, this is the 90 dealers parts book so often the numbers were superceded, I will get right a hold of you if he backs off.

Re: rear window louver hardware

Dang if I had an ebay frame of mind I could start a bidding war, somehow I don't think that's in the spirit of this site. I have not heard back from big red, today, and he had some compatibilty concerns, I told him I was sure that these fit 88-90, but he has 86 or 87 so he needed check that out. if he doesn't get back to me shortly I will will get back to you, I am leaving town on Monday for a week or so, so If I go dark I will catch up upon my return. I'll check my messages tonight and respond accordingly thanks for the interest

Yeah, louver hardware is next to impossible to come by, I already have a complete set for my louvers on my car, I just wanted spares.

Re: rear window louver hardware

totally of the subject, but you a being site savvy enthusiast, what is the best headliner solution, I have a coupe, most of the posts I see complain about fit and finish of the abs aftermarket headliners, and I don't see a source for the original style as a replacement

Pretty sure a mod needs to delete. You can edit the title to "sold" by editing the original post, then "go advanced" and edit the title in the post.

PS, I like the sig, but the saying is "he wouldn't have made them so tasty"

Re: rear window louver hardware

Sooooooooooo...If this infamous hardware is soooo hard to come by...Why hasn't anyone on this forum either replicated them or take and sell the specks to make their own???

Just seems like a very wise, yet disreguarded opportunity.

Re: rear window louver hardware

Would anyone be interested in taking pictures of the way this hardware connects to the glass or frame. I found a rear louver last year with no hardware of coarse and want to try and make some fasteners for it.

They're definitely hard to come by. I sold a set of louvers with some hail damage to a guy for $150 and all he needed was the hardware. Must be that people take the louvers off and leave the hardware on the car. Next owner takes them off and tosses them. They wouldn't be too hard to make with a sheet metal brake. The spring type bar that the locking bolts hook on would be most difficult. But I guess you could just weld the same diameter rod to the bracket. If you don't have the locking bolts, you're out of gas.

Re: rear window louver hardware

One of my retaining clips is partly broken, but still works ..... I'm looking for the drivers side or both sides from the Black Magic II Louvers from Cragar. Mine have the 2 plastic sides and metal stats (side pieces are same design as slats - not ones where side pieces are totally different look)
I need drivers side plastic piece, of of the retaining clips and the top slat that has the hinges on it - or the whole thing !!!!!
If anyone is saleing any of this, or the all aluminum one piece Louvers, can they please contact or PM me. I'd really appreciate any help!!!!!

Those will only work with the gm louvers.

Best alternative that I've seen is to find an original and recover it. They are repairable with fiberglass and you would scrape off the old cloth/foam remnants and recover with new foam backed cloth. The adhesive is a spray on from a can, but look for the one that says it is made for head liners.

Mine are exactly the same as the "GM ones" When I bought them, I checked with GM first, and found out that what they had listed in their parts book was the Cragar ones, which I was able to get cheaper somewhere else !
Really just looking for help and maybe someone reading through all these might have something or knows someone who does .....
