1989 Trans Am GTA
For sale is my 1989 Trans Am GTA. This car only has 56,000 miles and is in great condition with zero rust. I bought this car as a roller and installed a LS1/4L60E out of a 2002 Trans Am Ram Air car using Hawks conversion mounts for both the engine and transmission. The LS1 has approx. 64,000 miles on it and runs great. Engine has a new power steering pump, A/C belt and oil pressure sending unit. The engine is all stock except for a tune and MSD plug wires, which were needed for header clearance. I built the wiring harness using the factory LS1 harness and integrated it into the factory Trans Am harness. The exhaust consists of Racing Innovation stainless headers, a custom made 2 1/2” Y-pipe built from stainless mandrel bends which flows into a factory Trans Am style 3” flowmaster crossflow muffler. New A/C Delco fuel pump was installed for the LS1. The fuel system also goes from the stock fuel lines to a return style Aeromotive regulator. From the regulator to the engine, I used high quality Aeroquip A/N fittings and black nylon high pressure hose. Everything works as it should, except the cruise control. I do have the correct electronic cruise control box and could tell you what wires have to be hooked up to make it function. A/C uses the LS1 compressor with Hawks conversion lines to hook to the factory third gen system. The engine and trans mounts are new. I also installed an auto dimming rear view mirror with temp and compass. Interior is also in great shape for the year. Dash has no cracks and the seats have no tears. All the lumber controls on the seats work as they should, which is rare. Steering column is tight with no slop. Trunk New JVC stereo and Alpine 6X9 and 4X6 speakers. Car still has the Lexan T-Tops and have not been replaced with glass. Could use some paint work on the roof, mirrors, hood and spoiler due to clear coat starting to peel. Clean title in hand. The price is $9,500. PM me here if interested or for more info.
Note: The A/C lines are not installed in the pictures below.

There is nothing wrong with the car. I also have a 2011 Camaro I find myself driving most of the time. I want the extra money to finish my 70 Camaro.
The tach works just fine. Used a Dakota Digital SGI-8 box when I did the swap.

Price drop to $8000 and I just ordered 4 new BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp-2 tires for it. They will be installed this Saturday.

Here's some updated pictures with the new tires installed. They don't even have 5 miles on them.

Re: 1989 Trans Am GTA
Well I thought I had my car sold this last Friday. Guy drove 3 hours with the cash for the car. I completely forgot this car has a rust out vin tag on the dash. Guy thought I was being dishonest about it and thought the car was stolen or something. I told him I honestly just forgot and it really wasn't any big deal to me and I also showed him the vin was on every body panel and they all matched. From the searching I did on this site it seems I'm not the only one with a car that has a rusted vin tag.
I will drop the price to $6,500 to save me the aggravation of having to deal with it. Someone would be getting a great deal at that price.
From what I seen there are 2 options. Drive car as is and not worry about it. Local DMV salvage inspection station can inspect the car and issue a new vin number.
