'92 305 TBI Firebird for sale. $2000
Hi.
Selling '92 Firebird. It looks like Formula, but has a GTO body kit and no badges that designate it. It's a 305 TBI, so I am not sure what it is exactly. Look at the pictures below. Maybe somebody knows?
This is (was) a sort of father-son project, but now neither of us have time to work on it and I need money to fix the house and free up garage space and have one more kid and wife yelling at me (what a surprise) so it needs to go.
It's not often that I need to sell a car(s) so please bare with me and I'll do my best to describe condition and such.
Let me start with what we've done so far and then I'll describe general condition. You know the good, the bad and the ugly....
-Energy Suspension Poly bushings all the way around
-Fresh shocks
-Fresh steering links
-UMI (I think, it's red) adjustable panhard bar
-Aluminum drive shaft
-LS1 brakes both front and rear with working park brake
-Drilled rotors and new pads (minus about 10K as it sits now)
-LT1 read axle with 3.24 Posi courtesy of that '93 donor camaro
-that thing that goes in with front sway bar and ties up the front. I forgot what it is called, sorry
-Full EGR delete
-AC delete
-55?LB injectors
-Edelbrock air filter
-Fresh generator
-Fresh iridium spark plugs
-Fresh spark plug wires and cap with runner
-Edelbrock headers
-Magnaflow small cat (that didn't pass NJ inspection, but did pass NY because they didn't care as it's pre-OBD2)
-Grant steering wheel
-B@M shifter
-Alpine head unit with all updated Sony speakers. Definitely sounds better than stock
-Good'ish dash pad (not installed)
-New outer window seals (not installed)
-Some other bits and pieces I am forgetting, but that's normal I guess.
Body is in good condition with minor surface rust. There is one "bad rust" spot under AC box thing. This most likely is one of those cars that was painted in California with one of those "eco friendly" paints so it was/is peeling. I sanded and sprayed most trouble areas with spray can primer. The idea was to do a pro paint when we have time and funds so priming job was mainly to prevent further rust.
Car is garaged now, and I haven't seen any more rust spots popping up, at least nothing obvious.
Underside and suspension components were sprayed with Rast Oleum and I thought I did a good job of cleaning prior, but car spend few month in Buffalo and some of it didn't "work as advertised".
Plastic is almost good. There is a small hole in rear bumper and front ground effects are scuffed up and missing small pieces.
Wheels that are on now are the wheels that were on a car. Front ones sporting some major spacer to clear those massive LS1 calipers and as a result rob inner fenders at full turn. But the car was not driven daily and the wheels there mostly "for show" so not a lot of damage in that department.
Interior is as clean as I could get it with few rounds of shampoo and carpet cleaner, but honestly, I'd replace the at least the carpet. When we got the car it smelled rodents and it still does. There is no head liner and no visors.
T-Tops are plastic and for being such are not very smooth on the outside. They didn't leak but start "howling" at around 75 MpH
I installed replacement dashpad and it too cracked. Although it is not nearly as bad as one in pictures.
Engine has circa 74K miles on it, and was ok up until last year when it started leaking from either main bearing or one of the breather holes (I strongly hope it's the hole, but not sure). This was switly attributed to new 3.24 axle which had poor little 305 working overtime.
Asking $2K. Come and get it.
Pictures below.

Some more pictures
This is how replacement dashpad looked like when I got it. It looks the same now for the most part except one quarter size nick.
..Some poor TransAm donated brake calipers
The filter that's on now is bigger one from Edelbrock. I couldn't find correct picture.
Donor's engine
Donor...
Headers are stainless Edelbrock with EGR tubes removed. I don't know who made Y-pipe.

Bump again. Can't force myself to eBay, still for sale.
Also would trade for 80 series Land Cruiser flexible on condition as long as it is running and not a complete rust bucket. Light body damage ok.

I'd part it, but I don't have dedicated space in garage and need it running. And dont' want to move it outside.

Yes. Both still here. I wasn't actively looking to sell up until recently. As my kid was kind of on the fence to finish the project. But now he seem to lost interest for good.
We tried to start Camaro last weekend and it looks like starter solenoid went. It still turns over freely and all fluid seem in good shape. Firebird being started and driven at least once a month and kept in the garage the whole time.
So it still as good as it was when I originally posted it. Price is negotiable. Or if you have a running harley road king or any other soft tail we can discuss a trade.... or a Wrangler
Cheers!

I've heard something about the tranny. Never paid attention to that though. Not sure what the implications are. In any case it is still in the car. I don't have time to take it out unfortunately. Also shipping from PA to Oregon will be $$$$
