AC/DC Freak

I have a 1986 I-Roc Z/28 with the power mirror option, the only problem is neither mirror works and i am wondering is there a motor that needs to be replaced somewhere or do i have to get new mirrors altogether?

If it is just replacing a motor or something where is a good place to find that?

Both mirrors, I would suspect the switch itself.give it a test.

So if the switches are good, i would need to replace both mirrors?

It's not likely both motors would fail at the same time. Also, the effort & cost of replacing them might be more involved vs. troubleshooting the switch and wiring. Other than checking the fuse, you would need a multi-meter to find out if the switch is getting power and if the power is going out to the motors.

I had the same problem on my 88 TA. It was the switch, the switch gets exposed to a lot of abuse over the years which the power motors rarely get.

Ok that makes sense it is probably the switches,but just out of curiosity, there are actual motors that power the mirrors how do you replace them? Do you need to buy new mirrors or new motors?
