B&M megashifter mounted to firebird console?

Hey guys, this is the last little P.I.T.A I have to deal with involving my floor pan repair and interior swap, I decided to replace the Camaro center console that the P.O put in my car with the correct Trans Am center console. One thing I forgot was that the B&M megashifter plate was not meant to be mounted to these center plates. has anyone done this? is there any alternatives instead of using the plate B&M provides? I do a lot of metal work for my job so I'm sure I could fab something up but I barely have enough time to work on this car as it is. thanks

the plate comes very close to either blocking the ashtray switch or covering the power mirror cutout. I'd like to retain both if possible.

Well I figured it out on my own, I figure these pics will help someone else later on, luckily the firebird center console plate has a grid design that makes it easy to follow the cuts that I made

Always wondered how I might approach this myself. Thanks for the photos.

got it all buttoned up today, the two back screws that hold the b&m plate to the center console plate need to be cut short in order for the center plate to clip into the center console
