New to me 1989 GTA

I finally got a chance to take some nice pics of my 89 GTA that I drove 1400 miles round trip to get! It's got 45k original miles on it and it already placed 2nd in a judged car show a couple weeks after I got it home. I lost to a 1987
Monte Carlo SS with 2,000 miles on it!

Re: New to me 1989 GTA

Thanks. I wish I could take credit for it's great condition, I cannot. I'm the 4th owner of it, and the previous owners all babied it. It's had some bolt on mods, things like intake runners, headers, a chip, air intake, etc. I got all of the original parts with the car in case I want to ever return it to stock. I was looking long and hard for a gunmetal, non t-top, cloth interior, southern car and I found it! Every time I drive it I feel 18 again

I hear ya! Bought mine new in 88' in So Cal. I feel the same way when I drive mine; brings back LOTS of great memories. I love my gunmetal gray!

That car is unbelievably gorgeous. Grey is the best color on a GTA.

Re: New to me 1989 GTA

Beautiful car! Love the grey GTAs, especially the hard tops.

Your car is great for a couple reasons-it's grey, great condition, and has been well taken care of for its entire life.

There were a couple beautiful grey GTAs at TA Nationals this year-a hard top with 40K miles and a T-Top/paddle mirror car with just over 40K miles. Both were really great examples of GTAs.

Not sure you are a member at GTA source page, but I know the guys there would love to see your car also.

Congrats on your 'new' GTA.

I never really cared for the gunmetal gray until I saw your car. The way the sun hits it, its perfect in that light.

Re: New to me 1989 GTA

Thanks for the compliments. I remember seeing these when they were new, and I always liked the way they looked in this color. I was hoping to drive it a little more this year, but with the threat of cold and snow looming in the very near future, long term storage is imminent.
