Headers

Looking to install an aftermarket K member in my 83 and upgrading the headers to at least a 1 7/8 inch with a 3 1/2 collector. The 1 3/4 are the max I find except for the Huslers with the flat collector and I don't really like those. Anybody got other suggestions? Thx.

Re: Headers

1-7/8" on a SBC is huge. That would be considered a full race header.

Re: Headers

AlkyIROC, thanks for the link to Lemons, I'll give them a call. Presently running 1 3/4 Hooker Super Comp, the person that reworked the heads suggested the switch to a 1 7/8 and when I started looking I did not find many options for this chassis.

Re: Headers

Like I said, headers that big on a SBC are race headers. You won't find very many options especially with the off the shelf header manufacturers unless you're using them in a dragster or tube chassis car.

I'm going to take a guess and say the Lemons are going to be in the $1200-$1500 range.

Another option is www.edquay.com but the online store seems to be down for maintenance.

One more option is http://www.stahlheaders.com/Web108P_1.html

Last option is http://www.headersbyed.com/ and build a custom set.

Re: Headers

I have the Ed Quay 1 7/8 long tube headers.

It fit with the stock k-member, but with some modifications.
