Re: quest for 11.99
holy crap the car is way different now on the launch. lets just say dead hooking on the street is a no. we did do some minor prep on one of our local "test tracks" which helped quite a bit. lets just say it launches like a drag car now and really sets you back.

Re: quest for 11.99
well...... I might have a dart block 400 sbc build with nitrous planned. I just cant believe I put this motor in the 11's. I was talking to my dad after the third 11.80's pass neither one of use ever thought it would do it.

Re: quest for 11.99
Its easier to do than people think. I did it with a NA TPI 350 back in the early to mid 90s.
Great feeling isn't it? Congrats on reaching your goal, I bet you can get more out it ;-)

Re: quest for 11.99
Just picked up on your thread as I'm interested in an 11 second time slip myself.
Congratulations.
It may be a little more difficult with my 355 as opposed to your 383 but the prospect of a converter upgrade to a Yank (as was done in our 81 Monte with great results) and new heads might put me over the top on a day with good air. That said, I have a PB of 1.7 flat 60' with my TCI 10" converter but it doesn't behave nearly the same way as the Yank does.
Where do you race? I'm interested in the density altitude. Up here in Alberta, summer days have a DA over 3500'. That takes a lot out of the engine's performance. Call it 3/10ths and a couple miles an hour compared to my seal level passes.
Congrats again on your personal best(s).

Re: quest for 11.99
skinny I race at cordova international raceway in Illinois. elevation is about 625 or so. the yank made a big difference. never had a high end converter before so its a lil odd to me I can only brake stall it to about 1700 rpms but it flashes straight to 3600 at wot. my buddys 4th gen is the same way.
and nova yeah im pretty much right on the line for a bar. its in the plans for this winter.
