Smog question

Looking at picking up a 92 rs 305 auto car. I took it down for smog with the owner and it passed everything with flying colors but failed the low pressure into the fuel tank. What is the fix for this from others experiences?

Re: Smog question

Evaporative line may have a leak. A small hole was in the steel line on a car of mine. Easy enough fix; no I didn't replace the whole line. Definitely wouldn't keep me from buying an otherwise "right" car.

Re: Smog question

We ended up picking up the car. It has a few issues but nothing major. Im going to pressurize the tank in the car and track down the leak amd make the repair. Ill keep this updated. Thanks

Re: Smog question

My 89 had that issue years ago and it ended up being a cracked filler neck. Ended up replacing the tank.
