Car: 1991 firebird
Engine: TBI 305 (built)
Transmission: T5

which car/route
Well some of u know I recently totaled my highly modified 305tbi 1991 based firebird harrow 5 speed
It has a ton of aftermarket/ tubular suspension components/brake upgrades and a n/a 6500 rpm 400 hp capable .030 over 305
So I'm going to go pick up a 1988 trans am supposedly GTA for !"FRRE"! that has been setting in the weeds for 5 + years with no motor trans or interior
And my plan was to swap EVERYTHING over from my 91 to the 88 TA
But recently doing some wrk on a old friends 88 corvette bone stock all original with 80k miles on it .... only mods are a brand spanking new tremec tko 5 speed trans , professional products larger throttle body , k&n air filter , 1.75" by 3" ceramic coated longtube headers and full 2.5" crush bent dual exhaust system
So the options are
1) swap out all my stuff from my 91 over to the 88 TA
2) go get the free roller and completely.part out both cars to save up some $ to buy this vette
What yall.think ?

Re: which car/route
since your 91 is totaled save or sell the parts
but please don't part out a gta that can go back on the road
or any car that is savable
if the 88 is solid enough to swap your parts into then i would suggest that route
check the underside, if it's a rust bucket then sure part and sell
but only if its so bad the frame is rotted out or worse, some surface rust on the floor can be fixed easily enough.

You need something for the family.
Family first unless you have another daily driver with back seats.

Just decide if you are a "vette" guy or not.
They are cool and alot of guys in my club have them.
I am not. Pontiac man here.
Good luck with your decision.

Re: which car/route
I vote for the GTA and swap over what you can from your crashed car. I love vettes but IMHO those 1980's vettes do not look that great. Looks a lot like the 80's nissan 300zx (my 1st car). The Fbody just looked so much better in the 80's.
For Corvettes to me it's about the curves, the sex appel, like a sexy woman's body. That was the '67, 69-79. Those had all the curves in the right places.

Re: which car/route
well at least the vette is a C4 and not one of those 70's vettes with the ugly humps over the front wheels

diapers and baby food... cars will come and go.
Raise the kid first then see if you have money left over for a toy.
my car sat for years! big deal you only get a few chances to be a dad. (how many kids do you want)
time to man up.

Lol no more kids ... Ole lady has a 7 ur old boy and we have a 5 month old girl ... either way I still have to have a car .. I had the bird and a DD but motor blew in the 94 town car .. so the bird was my DD ... so I might as well get what I want and something I can fix anything on if anything messes up on it ... some of this new technology in cars is a pita to wrk on
I think I'm just gonna go get that roller TA tomorrow and swap all my parts over to it seeing as that route is free .. mostly free anyway ...
