Assistance Finding Head Specs
Hey guys,
I have the opportunity to get my grubby mitts on a pair of Pro Topline heads, but I'm having a heck of a time finding any information on them. As far as I can tell, there's no casting numbers on this other than in the middle of the head (Where it says Pro Topline 350C).
They appear to have a Vortec style combustion chamber, although I haven't the foggiest idea what size chamber it is. Additionally I haven't a clue what the runner sizes are or even what size valves she takes.
Would anyone happen to have any info on these heads?

Re: Assistance Finding Head Specs
Well, the seller got back to me and he's saying they're 67cc chambers with a 185CC intake runner. 1.94/1.5 valves, with new seats and guides.
Wish I could find some flow numbers on these things. I guess it's safe to assume they would at least flow like 906s.

Hmm... The Torker has the 67cc chamber, but they're D shaped rather than heart shaped. The stock replacements are 64cc chamber, and heart shaped. Being as the only part number that I can find is the 350C, what are the odds that this is an in-between or limited run head?

Go down to page 61. Part #223 6494 906. Im still looking but thats the closest one Ive been able to find based on looking at the pics you sent. Vortec and heart combustion for sure. There should be other numbers on the heads.. Have they been milled? Looks like that is common to get c/r right for their particular motor..

Re: Assistance Finding Head Specs
Honestly, I dont know much about this brand head. Even if you have the part number from the head, If any machining has been done, obviously the cc's, runners, ect will have changed. Regardless, they look like some nice heads. Who ever woulda bought heads like this should know what they are doing. So they should know everything about the heads they are selling. you would think...

Well, I might just pull the trigger on them and figure it out somehow. It's pretty tough to beat the price he's asking for them. Unfortunately I've never done head work before, though, so I really have no idea what I'm doing as far as what to purchase. My normal machine shop guy isn't around anymore, so I'm not even sure who else in this area does head work.

So, they used to be called Pro Action, then they went to Pro Topline, then Comp cams bought them and now they are RHS, Racing Head Services... Sounds like they are older heads. Sounds like they are nice heads. remember you can get a nice set of aluminum heads for pretty cheap now a days.....Assembled... Good luck. Hope I was of help.

I never went that way when I finished, but I know a few guys who own there own shop and know their stuff. Let me get you their number and call and ask about the heads. They know their stuff. Re: Assistance Finding Head Specs
From what he says, they have 0 miles on them since having new guides and seats installed. The heads have 15K on them total.
They are completely bare, so they will need to be assembled. I'm pretty mechanically inclined so I think I could probably tackle it if I can get my hands on the tools (I'm guessing I can probably rent them from Advance Auto). On the other hand, I obviously can't do a valve job, and I lack the experience of lapping valves, etc.
I don't have the motor I'm going to be using in my hands yet, but it's a 91 TBI roller 350 out of a full size van with about 76K miles on them. Runs and drives as is, so I'm hoping it'll need minimal machining to get it up to snuff. I wanted to get an idea on what heads I was going to be using before I started planning anything out.

Re: Assistance Finding Head Specs
Assuming these are the 906 Vortec replacement heads in the catalog, does anyone have flow numbers on these? I'm coming up with a whole lot of nada. I'm driving about three hours round trip to pick these up tomorrow after work, so if anyone has any insight that'd be terrific!
Thanks,
-Mike
