Injector size help

Injector size help
Need help with getting the right size injectors. I am going with a FIRST intake, 185cc Profilers, cc503 with 1.6 rockers.
Will I be ok with getting 24's or should I go up to a 28-30 injector? Also, do I need to buy a certain brand that fits the FIRST intake?
Thanks

Re: Injector size help
Assuming a 350, 24 - 26 w AFPR should do the trick.
I'd use Bosch III if possible. Stock LS1 injectors for example which are 26 if memory serves. No idea about fitment to that particular intake / fuel rail setup. Best to ask the mfr themselves.

24 or 26 pph injectors will be fine at stock fuel pressure with that top end setup.
30's will also work, but not necessary.

Re: Injector size help
Bosch III injectors in a 24-26 is best. I ran LS1 injectors in a few of my 350's and never had a problem with fuel pressure or excessively high VE cells. With the widespread availability of Bosch III style injectors it's not worth it to use old Bosch II style. You can look up youTube videos of the difference and you'll never go back. If you try to go bigger you would have to compensate by really turning down VE cells or lowering the fuel pressure, either of which are bad solutions.

Re: Injector size help
I don't see a need to mess with VE cells simply for running a bigger injector. For the cam yes, but not for the injectors. As long as the injectors come with all the flow rate and offset data to plug in the program, you'll be good. Old style SVO 30's tune just fine with stock fp on CC503 setups.
I do agree that 24-26 pph is the better choice though. You might get an ever so slightly better idle/starting characteristic, .... and they'll make more power

Re: Injector size help
I think it's doable. I ran the LT4 "hot cam" in a 355 with semi ported Trick Flow 195 and a single plane and made 330 at the rear wheels and that was with conservative timing and fuel. I was never happy with the LT4 cam and I wanted to go to the cc503 but in a 110 lobe separation. Instead I just made a 383 and ran the 280XFI. I think you can make 400 at the crank but it might be the most the 185s and a FIRST intake can do on a 350.

Re: Injector size help
You would probably lose some torque going to the 195s. I'm guessing you would be fine since that long runner design already makes enough torque down low but I'm fuzzy on how much more upper RPM the FIRST intake gives you since I've never ran a FIRST. 195s and the cc503 would work fine together but I'm not sure if that is moving the power band past what the FIRST wants. I would think the cc503 is the most duration you would use for the long runner FIRST intake too.
