Hello Guy's. I have a 383 stroker per 86 four bolt with a load of stuff done to it and I have a T56 with stock GM14037657 Bell housing and clutch fork. I have a Mcleod 460300 153 tooth steel flywheel and now looking for a clutch for it. Can you help me and set me straight on where to look ?. or can I use a Mcleod 10.5 26 spline street strip clutch Paul

Re: T56 clutch information please

Is your flywheel a T56 conversion flywheel? Or is it a standard 2 pc RMS flywheel? If it's a conversion T56 flywheel, you can use any T56 clutch. Just a matter of how much power you want it to hold. The vast majority of T56 clutches (90%+) use the same Valeo pressure plates with different brands and colors painted on them. The difference in LT1 clutches is almost always in the clutch disc material. So factor that in to your costs when you're shopping for grippy clutches and discs are sold separately. You can sometimes get a parts store stock replacement clutch and throw a fancy clutch disc in it and save a little money. But usually it ends up about the same, because most of the price variance is in the disc.

Re: T56 clutch information please

Thank you for the heads up. I have a two parts rear seal and there is a conversion plate between the bell housing and T56 so that you can use a stock fitment clutch, clutch fork and fly wheel. So I have been informed by the Guy I had it off. He broke his ankle and had to go Auto. great deal for me thou !!!. Thanks for your help Paul.
