Re: HELP WITH T5
I'M HAVING TROUBLE INSTALLING MY T5. I GET IT IN ALL BUT A 1/4 INCH FROM BEING ABLE TO BOLT IT UP. NO MATTER WHAT I DO IT WILL NOT SEATN ALL THE WAY.
ANY INPUT WOULD BE HUGLY APPRECIATED

Besides being EXTREMELY difficult to read and therefore rude to us out here, your post comes across AS THOUGH YOU ARE SCREEEEMING AT US and therefore rude. Please be more polite.
Have your assistant press the clutch pedal to the floor while you lay up under the car and wiggle the trans while pushing it in. As it goes in incrementally, tighten up the bolts BY HAND ONLY. Under no circumstances should you EVER use the bolts to "pull" it in: that's a recipe for destruction. Most likely though, it'll just pop right in there by doing the above.

Re: HELP WITH T5
Sorry about the caps. I'm going to try what you said. however, my clutch pedal is disconnected. I will try wiggling while I push, which we have been doing. But we didn't try it with screwing in the bolts

Re: HELP WITH T5
Pull the Trans out and measure the input shaft length. I had to trim about a 1/4" off the front of mine to get it to bolt up. And I'll second what Sofa said about not using the bolts to pull the Trans into place. I learned that one the hard way when my bellhousing cracked.

Re: HELP WITH T5
Push the clutch. Seriously this should be step one, the important note at the beginning of the chapter on servicing the transmission. Extremely common issue, the clutch disc isn't lined up exactly right because the alignment tools are crap-o-la. Pushing the clutch lets the disc move just far enough to drop the rest of the way in.

Re: HELP WITH T5
Also check the pilot bushing in the rear of the crankshaft. Make sure it's not deformed, crooked or otherwise in bad shape. It could possibly be the culprit if everything else looks to be in order.
