Be hard to get a 295/60 to fit. Gotta optimize backspace and wheel well hammering. 295/55 i had was tight enough
I run 275/60 now and like it more but my wheels need bit more backspacing

I have 295/60 or 65 r15s on my drag rims. They fit my 1987 firebird but it was pretty tight, dropped my 60' from 2.2s on NT555s to 1.8s with alittle spin but I blame the low end tq of a 521cuin motor lol. Looks alot like Orr's

What back spacing are you at? And can you take a pic from rear of car? I have same tires as you. I have a 4th gen rearend but need to buy wheels. Don't know what BS I need..I think either 5.5 or 6.5

For drag pack cant beat a gto spare front runner and 17" m&h or similar runner tire. Or stick with 15x4 stuff if you have stock brakes.
For the rear i'd match it with a zr1 style rim in a 315/35/17 mickey et street radial 2 if you want a street strip tire. They will hook you up! My 305/35/19's have gone mid 1.40 60 foots ramping power in slow but they showed no signs of reaching limit. I bet i could go high 1.3's on them and thats a 19" rim! 315/17 should do as well or better.
That be a 17x11 rear rim with 56 ish mm offset. Should bolt in and not require spacers. If too close you can space it out with small slip ons
