Malibu hits the streets

Finally after 4 1/2 years the Bu is on the road again.. Still need to finish painting the doghouse and some fit/finish items...

Got some minor bugga boos, somethings thumping the floor occasionally, and the brakes feel like another bleeding is in order..

Butt-O-Meter rates it as hang on....its going to get loud..and loose....

anything more than 1/3 throttle brings in boost.. peaking at 13 or 14 lbs @4200 with only 3/4 throttle..and boy am I glad I built a 9 inch for it... lol

Once things are shook down, and tuned.. going to hit the track..

Might be late summer for I do....don't want to kill the 305 as of yet.. track time will more than likely do just that.. hehe

I'll post a couple pics later..

Bob

I haven't run any logs yet but the WB shows plenty of fuel..

No way I could hear it detonate anyways... the blowers make more noise than I expected.. not real bad.. but loud enuf.

Running a 7749 with $58 code and 30lb injectors.

Looks GREAT amigo, I cant wait to hear how much work it is to dial in. I bet, not much.

Yeah thats my oldest boy.. Bobby Jr. Hes wondering when he will get a chance to ride in daddy's car.. Big sis got a ride home from school yesterday.. Have to love the looks from the other parents when I pulled up front of the school, with stereo blowers whining..

It's definitly not subtle...

Currently having to add straps to the discharge tubes..

< boost building > Pshhhhhhhttt!!! POP!

Get used to the blower whine… I’m continually amazed how quiet they get those things in factory setups… with my brother’s car that’s all you can hear, inside it’s louder then the exhaust, and outside you can hear it over a mile away (the distinctive whine… nothing else really sounds like it). He ended up pulling most of his stereo out because there really wasn’t a point in it.

We played with a dB meter in his car and found that under everything but idle it exceeds OSHA hearing protection required levels, and at WOT goes someplace over 120dB (meter held at about chest level in the passenger seat).

Yours probably isn’t quite as bad because you’re turning your blowers at a much lower RPM (his is hitting 18,000K before he shifts), with a heavily ported inlet (where most of the noise comes from).

Now lets see some track times… we’re shooting for 10’s this spring with the single M90.
