clutch engaugement adjustment with T56???
clutch engaugement adjustment with T56???
I swapped in a t56 for my old t5 a while ago and the clutch engauges/disengauges very close to the top and it is a new clutch. I want to bring down the point of engaugement to about the middle of the pedals travel, I quickly tried spacing the slave clyinder back about a 1/2" with some washers and it did not make a difference, now I am thinking i have to adjust the assembly on a part that is not the hydrolics like where it connects to the pedal or something
Just wondering if someone can save me some time if they have already gone thru this. thanks.

I cut the bracket off of the clutch pedal that the master cylinder attaches to and welded on a longer one this way I could remount the stud further away from the firewall. Now the clutch pedal is in line with the brake pedal.

what I did was just cut a 1 inch piece out of the master cylinder rod (fat part), tap both ends and made a turnbuckle out of it with something I found at the hardware store, works great and fully adjustable.

Pics?
, These I gotta see. Was this a common problem with the T5 as well. Mine engages extremely high, however it is a new clutch.

I have no pic's but I made something on paint to give you a idea, this will work for T-5's masters also since both are pritty much the same.

I wasn't to sure what to call that thing but your right, just make sure you add two regular 3/8 nuts on both ends of the rod coupling nut to tighten it all up.

i have a question, instead of cutting the master cylinder rod, couldnt you just cur the slave cylinder and get the same results. personally i think its easier to get to the slave cylinder. dont have to brake my arm to get to the rod. thanks.

Re: clutch engaugement adjustment with T56???
Sorry to bring up an old topic I just installed the t56 in my car with 4th gen mast, slave, pedal. I want to know what are symptoms of the mast rod being to long.for example my clutch pedal is real hi and only moves about quarter inch. after I bled the slave cylinder its real tight

Damn this is a oldie
If I'am getting this right you can't push your pedal down pass 1/4" of movement then my guess is the slave rod is not sitting on the clutch fork and is fully extended out. Careful not to push to hard or you will blow out your slave. Anyways start there and let us know.

Re: clutch engaugement adjustment with T56???
and to dig up an old thread again, im thinking about using a bearing hime joint for this project.
another thought, what about making an adj pedal stop? this would keep the pedal from going too far for those that have the fork contacting the diaphragm.
