Best Place to Buy a Shortblock?

hi guys, i am looking into buying a shortblock instead of build it myself so i can save some time. i'm looking for a 350 or 355 shortblock. where's a site with great prices and products? thats what i'm looking for. thanks a lot!

thats kind of a lot....i've seen some for $899.....i'm looking for somehting under $1000. i'm gonna put my own cam and heads on so....just checking out some options.

I would check your local engine builder or machine shop, so you can see first hand what you're getting before you buy it.

I'd stick with GM, you know what you're getting. I've heard so many engine-building horror stories.

yeah, the local engine shop doesnt have too much of a variety. its a good shop and they gave me some good prices on building but the labor is more than the parts which i'm not liking at all. i can do most myself but the machine work.....

yeah i know.....shortblock is prolly just the way to go then. hard to find cheap 1 pc. roller shortblocks advertised though....

Its going to be cheaper to get a shortblock than have all the machine work done to yours, unless you know a machienest or something.

I found this place while looking around. $1800 for a 383 short block..not bad.
