Please search for topics before posting them, this EXACT topic has been gone over a million times.
The short answer is that it's a waste of money. For the same or less money you could buy a 350 block and rotating assembly and be making more power assuming equal heads, cam, etc. The shrouding of the small-bore 305 block is not ideal for performance.

ryan if u had to do it again would u go with the 335 or a 350. i dont think 350 r really that bad to begin with i can kill most of them with my tpi 305 so i figured get the get a set of vortech heads. intake runners, intake, and a nice sized cam and i should really be able to impress alot of people thanks

Now either the search I submitted is MAGIC or you didn't actually try a search at all. Because the above threads should have more than enough information to give you an answer, I'm locking this thread. (Almost all of them agree, the cost of special clearancing and machine work needed to stroke a 305 exceeds the cost of buying and building a 350, and you'll get more power with the 350).
