Re: Hypertech ThermoMaster Chip for LG4

no, no, no, no. Mine has a hypertech chip in it and its just plain bad. Big waste of money, there is no way one of these chips can help your car, they're not personal at all.

either save the money and use it towards the equipment to burn your own, or put it towards someone else doing it for you in person. At the very very least put it towards a custom chip from someone here.

Apparently they use a 160c thermostat and this upsets your ecm,a 170 would be better.

Re: Hypertech ThermoMaster Chip for LG4

I bought mine on Ebay nearly two years ago for $20 NIB. But I didn't install it because of all the negative post here. One day when I had nothing to do, found it and installed it in 15 minutes probably. Well, I must have had the right combo of parts cause I picked up some bottem end torque and better fuel mileage from the chip swap. My motor is the lg4 with a comp 268 cam, true roller, hedman shorties, edelbrock catback, and accel brute force ignition coil and module. All still on the ecm with a 160 stat. Wish I had done it sooner. Do notice a slight ping when the temp goes over 180. Have yet to put the 170 temp switch in .

Re: Hypertech ThermoMaster Chip for LG4

if the car is totally stock its useless. put the money towards a better part, or take your wife out to dinner, either are more productive than that chip
