I bought a tank from these guys: discountgastanks.com
Price was good, very fast delivery and fit was excellent- with one exception: I had to but a new gas cap, because the threads on the new tank were different than the old tank. The new tank has the same threads as a 95 Honda Accord tank.
i don't want to have to change over the fuel system lines.

just what i was looking for. the same tank on other sites and ebay go for $250 plus. i found it cheapest at rockauto.com so for for 169 +shipping and this site you have here is only $165 shipped.
quick question: how close is the gas tank in look to the factory? any problems with it. i need to pick up a new sender as well. i would like to save money but i want the right tank also. new from gm just the tank is $450 and i don't want to mess with one out of a wrecked car.

Reason: Automerged Doublepost
The tank looks just like the factory tank. My sending unit assembly was corroded very badly, so I bought one from the same people. The sending unit fit well, but the gas gage is terribly inaccurate. It reads dead full for over half a tank then drops like a brick. From GM factory, my car only read full for the first 1/4 tank, then dropped. The indicated level could be adjusted by bending the arm for the float, but I have too many other things I would rather do than drop the tank just for that.
I needed to replace my tank too, but I'm not fond of the in tank pump etc, so I looked for a sumped solution.
I used a C5 vette fueling receptacle in place of the stock one, with clear fuel safe vinyl hose connecting the tank and the fueling receptacle. Specify 0-90 ohm sender.
I have dual 3" aerochambers that dump in front of the axle, and I avoid speed bumps like the plague, but I don't drive my car daily. It's a provisional solution until I finish some re-wiring and suspension projects I am doing on my car right now and then I'll start on a more permanent side exit spintech solution for exhaust.
